'Burnham eager to get drilling' and 'Tardis fit for a King'

In his article in the Guardian, Andy Burnham writes that "Number Ten North" could bring the "much-needed sea change in the way Britain is run". He expresses hope that the move will be seen as his government's "most defining" act. But the paper says he will face calls to prove the plan isn't "tokenistic". Describing him as "SuperManc", the Daily Star says he's "working from home" - adding "let's hope he's not shirking from home".

Sources in the oil and gas sector tell the Times they believe the new prime minister wants to "move quickly" to scale up drilling in the North Sea. They say they're expecting the Rosebank and Jackdaw projects to get the green light, as part of plans to help with the cost of living. The paper understands Burnham is "open minded" about the schemes.

The Financial Times reports that a betting account in the name of the convicted fraudster George Cottrell received almost $9m (£6.7m) in cryptocurrency, while he was providing gifts and benefits to Nigel Farage.

It is unclear who provided the money - which was used to bet on Donald Trump winning the 2024 US election - and who received the winnings. Cottrell's lawyers tell the paper they will not comment on his financial affairs; Reform UK has not responded to the the FT's request for comment.

"Every single advanced AI model goes rogue in testing" is the headline in the Daily Mail. Experts tell the paper that during tests of five artificial intelligence models, all of them tried to trick their way around security controls.

And the first wheelchair user set to appear on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is revealed in the Sun. The Paralympian Ade Adepitan is said to be in advanced talks to take part in the show's next series, with ITV looking at ways to adapt the camp for him.
