Further arrest over cattle stolen from farm

North Yorkshire Police say inquiries into the theft remain ongoing

Police investigating the theft of cattle from a farm in North Yorkshire have made a further arrest.

Seven cattle were taken from the Ripley area on Sunday. A man in his 30s from West Yorkshire was arrested on Wednesday night on suspicion of burglary, and has since been bailed.

A 70-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary with intent to steal and remains in custody, North Yorkshire Police said.

Five cattle have now been returned to their owner in a fit and well condition, with two undergoing identification checks before being returned, the force said.
