A man has been seriously injured after being struck by a car in a hit and run in Dundee.

The 25-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident on the Kingsway close to the roundabout at Myrekirk Road at about 23:35 on Thursday.

The car, thought to be a blue or grey hatchback-style vehicle, failed to stop at the scene.

The man was treated at Ninewells Hospital for "serious, but not life-threatening" injuries, Police Scotland said.

Officers have launched an appeal for information and said inquiries to trace the vehicle were ongoing.
