The city centre is set to welcome hundreds of Santas as an annual fundraising event returns to the Isle of Man's capital.

The Santa Dash will see a mixture of competitors of all ages from across the island donning festive outfits to race a course around the mile-long (1.6km) course.

The race, organised by the Isle of Man Bank, will set off from Prospect Hill at 12:30 GMT.

Several roads in the centre of the capital will be temporarily shut during the event to allow the competitors to navigate the course safely.

Road closures

12:15 – 13:15 Christian Road to Prospect Hill

12:30 – 12:45 Prospect Hill & Victoria Street

12:30 – 13:00 Finch Road from Crellin's Hill to Christian Road

Parking will also be suspended on the roads lining part of the course during the race.

The fundraising event sees the prizes awarded in the form of a donation to one of a selection of chosen charities.
