Fatal house fire 'started accidentally'
BBCA fire that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man in Derby was started accidentally, the fire service has said.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property in Siskin Drive, Sinfin, by neighbours at 15:44 GMT on Friday.
On arrival, firefighters from Ascot Drive, Ilkeston and Kingsway entered the property but found the man had died.
A spokesperson for the service said fire investigators determined the blaze was most likely started by the man smoking in bed, accelerated by the use of emollient creams.
The service added no-one else was in the property at the time of the fire, but a dog was taken into veterinary care.
