Mohamed Ullah pleaded to making a threat to kill

A man has admitted threatening to "kill Jewish schoolchildren".

Mohamed Ullah, 35, from Hackney in east London, threatened to "decapitate" the youngsters in a comment he made to a woman on 13 February.

Appearing at Wood Green Crown Court, Ullah admitted to making a threat to kill, as well as racially aggravated harassment, assault and damaging a water dispenser at Homerton Hospital.

Defence barrister Tom Kharran told Friday's hearing: "The defendant at the time of the offending was about to be discharged as a patient from a mental institution, and he has been assessed as fit to plead."

Ullah pleaded guilty to the offences on 5 June, but a judge imposed a reporting ban as he denied three assault allegations which also took place on 13 February.

On Friday, he admitted assaulting one woman, while the other two assault charges were subsequently dropped meaning his other pleas could now be reported.

Ullah bit his nails throughout the hearing, which he attended via videolink from HMP Pentonville.

Judge Daniel Fugallo ordered the probation service to assess how much of a danger Ullah poses to the public ahead of his sentencing on 5 August.

He will be held in custody until then.
