Hundreds of people have taken to the streets of Sunderland to celebrate Pride.

Hosted by charity Out North East, co-founder of Stonewall Lord Michael Cashman CBE attended and spoke at the event, which culminated at Keel Square.

North East mayor Kim McGuinness was also in attendance alongside Labour MPs for Sunderland Central, Lewis Atkinson, and Jarrow and Gateshead East, Kate Osborne.

Ahead of the event, Atkinson said: "I believe in a Sunderland that is safe and welcoming for all, a city where everyone can be who they are and love who they choose."
