Three-storey house fire started 'accidentally'

Emergency services were sent to the home in Rothwell just after midnight on Thursday morning

An investigation has found a blaze at a three-storey home that spread across the two top floors and the loft started accidentally.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue said all the occupants of the property, and its neighbours, on Horse Fair Lane, Rothwell, managed to get out before crews arrived.

Two people were left in the care of paramedics, it added.

It said it was called at about 00:20 BST on Thursday and four crews, and an aerial appliance attended.

The fire was out by 08:00 and crews continued to dampen down the remaining hotspots until about 09:30, it added.
