Police increase patrols after Sydney attack
GettyPolice have increased patrols across the West Midlands in the wake of the attack at a Hanukkah event on Sydney's Bondi Beach.
West Midlands Police said it had been speaking with Jewish community representatives around the region "to offer our support and reassurance at a deeply troubling time for them".
"With many Hanukkah events taking place around the region over the coming days, we have increased our patrols in the communities most affected," the force said. It has also offered safety advice to event organisers.
Two gunmen targeted Jewish people attending the event in Australia on Sunday, killing 15 people.
Officers added they were in touch with Hanukkah event organisers in the West Midlands to listen to their concerns.
"We know that what should be a time of celebration for Jewish people has now become a time of grief and anger," the force said, adding it was working to make the region a safe place for people of all communities.
