A points failure has caused service disruption on train routes between Cambridge and Ipswich.

Greater Anglia said the issue happened near Kennett in Cambridgeshire, with trains unable to run from Kennett towards Newmarket and Cambridge.

It added that Network Rail engineers were working to fix the problem.

Services were terminating at Bury St Edmunds, and anyone looking to travel between Cambridge and Ipswich should travel via Norwich, Greater Anglia said.

Services that would have been returning from Cambridge to Ipswich will also start at Bury St Edmunds.
