Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 19, are in hospital with serious injuries after they were shot in Solihull.

They both suffered bullet wounds and their injuries were believed to be life-threatening, West Midlands Police said.

Their officers were called to reports of shots being fired on Vauxhall Crescent, Smith's Wood, just before 02:40 BST on Monday.

The force urged anyone with information to get in touch, as officers carried out extra patrols in the area.
