Primary school closed after death of volunteer
BBCA primary school has closed for a day following the death of a volunteer, its trust says.
Flowers have been laid outside Waterwells Primary Academy in the Kingsway area of Quedgeley, Gloucester following an incident on Thursday afternoon, which Great Western Air Ambulance confirmed a helicopter was sent out to.
Greenshaw Learning Trust said it was "deeply saddened by the death" of the man, described as a "valued volunteer and member of our school community".
Despite its closure on Friday, the school is hosting drop-in sessions for those affected and said it would be supporting pupils, staff and families.
The trust said: "Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends and all those affected by this tragic loss.
"We are providing support to pupils, staff and families and ask that the privacy of the family is respected at this very difficult time," it added.

A spokesperson for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity said its crew were called to an incident in Quedgeley at 16:13 BST on Thursday, where they assisted a patient at the scene.
"They responded by helicopter with a critical care doctor, a trainee critical care doctor and a specialist paramedic on board," the spokesperson said.
