Shots fired at building with child inside
GoogleShots were fired at two buildings in Sheffield, police have said.
A child was inside a property in Oxford Street when shots were fired at 21:42 GMT on Saturday, according to South Yorkshire Police.
Less than half an hour later, at 22:06, shots were fired at a block of flats in Edward Street.
No one was injured and firearms officers were sent to both properties. The force said the incidents were believed to be linked.
Det Ch Insp Andy Knowles said a search had been launched for the "person or people responsible for pulling the trigger", who "showed no thought or care for anyone's safety, including that of a young child".
He added: "Those involved in gun crime clearly show a callous disregard for the safety of our communities.
"Thankfully on this occasion no one was injured in either incident, but next time it could be a different story."
The child was "being safeguarded", a spokesperson said.
