Two bailed after suspected hit and run

Two people arrested after a woman was seriously injured in an alleged hit and run have been released on bail.

The woman, in her 30s, is being treated for life-changing injuries in hospital after she was struck by a car on Rodbourne Road in Swindon in the early hours of Tuesday.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and questioned in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop. A 28-year-old woman was also arrested for "linked offences", police said.

On Thursday, Wiltshire Police confirmed both people had been released on conditional bail and the force was still appealing for witnesses.
