A Guernsey sixth form student has made his modelling debut for a high fashion brand at the Paris Fashion Week.

Jack Paulsen, 17 walked the catwalk in front of some of the biggest names in the fashion industry, for Dior as part of its men's spring summer 27 collection on 25 June.

Paulsen said he was scouted whilst he was away in Manchester earlier in the year and had "never thought about modelling beforehand".

He said the experience was "amazing" and hoped it was "it was just the beginning" of his modelling career.

Jack Paulsen said he would now "consider modelling as a future career"

Paulsen said he was approached by an agent outside his hotel and initially thought she was lying.

It was "quite insane" and "unexpected", he added.

Paulsen said the agent took him to take some headshots and he had interviews with agencies online.

He said that resulted in a trip to Paris to meet modelling agency Success Models who set him up with Dior.

Paulsen said the casting with the luxury brand entailed lots of photos and seeing how he walked.

He said he wore a "very thin fabric, like a suit, [which] was quiet baggy, an embroidered tie and a very thin scarf over my shoulder, and leather boots" on the runway.

On the day of his modelling, he said the waiting was nerve wracking but once he stepped on the catwalk "I got so much confidence, it was amazing".
