Man's body recovered from River Nene in city

Police were called to an area of the river in Peterborough city centre

The body of a man has been recovered from the River Nene in Peterborough.

Cambridgeshire Police officers were called shortly before 14:15 BST, following reports of a body in the water in the city centre. It was recovered by fire crews soon after.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said three crews, including from Dogsthorpe, Stanground and Yaxley, attended the incident off Oundle Road.
