Fugitive gangster is drink-drive killer who hit man in 91mph crash

A fugitive gangster hunted by police after £800,000 of drugs was discovered at a Renfrewshire flat has been jailed for five years.

Callum Fox, 29, from Paisley, was arrested in Northern Ireland in 2024. He then fled to Spain while on bail and was extradited back to Scotland in 2025.

Fox is already serving a six year sentence after killing a pedestrian in a 91mph crash while drink driving in November 2022.

He was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday for drugs offences and his part in serious and organised crime.

The court heard that police began looking into Fox's activities after a drugs raid at a flat on Paisley's Albion Street in July 2022.

He was caught in Northern Ireland and charged in connection with directing others in drug dealing.

After fleeing to Spain he was caught again in a joint operation between Police Scotland, the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Spanish authorities.

Det Insp Nick Gribben, of Police Scotland, said: "Fox was responsible for bringing fear and misery to local communities in Paisley.

"The information obtained confirmed his direct involvement in organised crime. It illustrated he was the one orchestrating widescale drug supply and distribution.

"He sought to profit from the misery of others. Perhaps he thought he was above the law, this sentence says otherwise."

In January this year, Fox was jailed for more than six years for killing Jim Paterson while driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was driving at 91mph in a 30mph zone when hit the pedestrian on Bredilands Road in Paisley, Renfrewshire, at 02:00 on 27 November 2022.

He was more than double the legal alcohol limit when he ignored pleas from his friends not to get behind the wheel of his Mercedes A45.

Judge Lord Cubie said Fox had shown a "selfish disregard" for the laws of the road.
