Police appeal after woman sexually assaulted in Lockerbie
Google EarthPolice are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Lockerbie on Saturday evening.
The incident happened at about 19:10 as the 30-year-old woman walked along Dumfries Road near the junction with St Brydes Terrace.
Officers said a man approached her, assaulted her and then left the scene heading towards Main Street.
Police Scotland said the victim was left shaken and inquiries were continuing to trace the suspect.
The man is described as white, about 5ft 5in (1.65m) tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a dark jumper, blue jeans and a baseball cap at the time of the incident.
A police spokesperson said: "This was a distressing incident which left the victim understandably shaken.
"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.
"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to get in touch."
