South Hams District Council has launched a consultation about changes to the play area

Families are being asked to help shape plans for a play area to make it welcoming, fun and accessible for all.

South Hams District Council wants to hear from those who use the play area between St Peter's Way and Gorse Way on Blackthorn Drive, in Ivybridge, Devon.

It is aiming for a safer and more modern play area with equipment that encourages children to be active and play outdoors.

Councillor Victor Abbot, executive member for neighbourhood services and leisure, said: "We want this play area to be shaped by the people who know it best... children often have brilliant ideas about what makes a play area exciting, challenging and fun, so we would really like to hear from them."

He said it only took a few minutes to complete the consultation, which was open until 25 July.

"By taking part, residents can help us create a space that works well for local families now and in the future," Abbot added.
