Two men have been charged with murder after the death of a 27-year-old cyclist in Leicester.

George Glover was punched as he rode along Narborough Road, close to the junction with Noel Street, at about 06:30 BST on Monday, and died in hospital on Thursday, Leicestershire Police said.

Chae Smith, 31, and 24-year-old Joshua Cook, both of no fixed address, have been charged with murder and one count of robbery, said officers.

They are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Smith has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.

A third person - Louise O'Connor - has been accused of one count of robbery, and the 39-year-old, of Noel Street, is also due to appear at the same court on Monday.

In a tribute released by police on Friday, Glover's family said: "George was a much-loved son and big brother to his three siblings. His loss is already felt so deeply."

They described him as "'loving and loyal with a good sense of humour".
