Police have launched an investigation after a car struck a telegraph pole in the south of Scotland.

The incident happened on the A701 at Parkgate in Dumfries and Galloway between 22:00 on Thursday and 02:00 on Friday.

A silver Volskwagen Tiguan hit a boundary fence and a BT pole. The driver - who was the only occupant of the vehicle - walked away unhurt.
