Police name man who died in Transit van crash
Police ScotlandA man who died in a road crash in Dumfries and Galloway has been named as William Laurie.
The 66-year-old, who was known as Billy, died at the scene of the incident near Lochmaben on Sunday.
He was driving a white Ford Transit van which was involved in the single-vehicle crash on the B7020 near Kinnel Hook at 10:20.
Police Scotland appealed for information from any potential witnesses.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened at about 16:30.
Sgt Lindsey Tait said: "Our thoughts are with Billy's family, and they have asked for privacy at this time.
"Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
"If you were driving in the area please check any dash-cam footage to see if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation."
