Man arrested after 18-year-old dies in car crash

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after another 18-year-old died following a car crash.

The single vehicle crash involving a blue Ford Focus happened on Saturday on Cricket Hill Lane in Yateley shortly after 21:30 BST, Hampshire and Isle of Wight police said.

An 18-year-old man from Fleet died in hospital, while another 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries and two other people suffered minor injuries.

The arrested man, also from Fleet, is being held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the car, particularly in the A30 / A327 roundabout area, is urged to contact police.
