A motorcyclist has died and another man has suffered serious injuries following a crash.

Gloucestershire Police said officers were called to London Road at Ampney St Peter at 18:55 BST on Thursday to reports that a black BMW motorbike had hit a wall outside the Red Lion pub.

The rider of the motorbike, a man aged in his 50s from Swindon, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene from his injuries.

The pillion passenger of the motorbike, a man in his late teens and also from Swindon, was taken to Great Western Hospital with serious injuries.

A number of roads between Ampney St Peter and Poulton, including the A417, were closed while an investigation into the crash took place.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash, or who might have dashcam footage, to get in touch.
