Firm pleads not guilty to house explosion charge
BBCJersey's gas company has been told to return to court next month after it denied breaching health and safety laws during a house explosion.
Jersey Gas, which trades under the name Island Energy, pleaded not guilty at the Royal Court to a charge under the Health and Safety at Work Jersey Law 1989 for failing to ensure the health and safety of people not in their employment, including the public.
It followed an investigation by the Health and Safety Inspectorate into an explosion at a property on Mont Pinel, St Saviour, in June 2024.
The firm has been told pre-court directions would be given at the next hearing on 3 March.
