A teenager has admitted throwing a bottle during a protest following the murder of Henry Nowak.

Callum Cool, who was 17 at the time, was at the scene of clashes between police officers and demonstrators in Southampton on 2 June.

The defendant, of Robinia Green, pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court to a charge of violent disorder.

The 18-year-old was bailed to appear at the city's crown court for sentencing on 29 June.

He was told he would be fitted with an electronic tag and should not attend any protest or gathering of more than 10 people.

The disorder broke out following the release of police body-worn video showing Nowak being arrested and handcuffed shortly before he died.

About 1,000 people protested outside Southampton Central Police Station before violence broke out two miles away near the murder scene and the home of the student's killer, 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa.

Cool is the 23rd person to be charged over the protest, with 13 people having been jailed so far.
