Around a quarter of bike docking stations are not working

Almost 200 of the 800 Santander Cycle scheme docking stations are out of service due to what Transport for London (TfL) described as a "connectivity issue".

The docking stations affected are across the city, from Aldgate to Knightsbridge and from Elephant and Castle to Camden.

TfL has listed the out of service docking stations on its website. The transport body has been approached by the BBC for comment.

The public bicycle hire scheme has been operating in London for more than 15 years, officially launching in July 2010.
