Fire destroys closed tourist attraction building
Newton Abbot Fire StationFirefighters have tackled a "large fire" which "completely destroyed" a building at a closed visitor attraction.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the Occombe Farm attraction, near Paignton, at 04:07 BST on Saturday.
The fire service said four crews from Torquay, Paignton and Newton Abbot found the old cookery school engulfed by flames and ensured the fire did not spread to surrounding grassland, but the building was "completely destroyed by the flames".
The attraction closed in October after the charity which ran it entered liquidation due to financial challenges. Torbay Council recently announced plans to sell the site to developer Greendale.
