Cartgate (out), 397 yards, par four
Another big, wide fairway with bunkers down the right but plenty of room to the left. A drive close to the bunkers gives you a better angle to the flag. The fairway is very undulating and you are unlikely to get a flat lie. The second shot is played with a short iron, probably a wedge, to a generous putting surface. The hole offers up birdie chances but it's quite difficult to get the ball close - often you think you've hit a good one, only to end up 25 yards away. Cartgate (Out): Named after the old cart track which crossed the fairway to the West Sands.
