Not to be for Rory McIlroy on 11. His approach lands pin high, but his putt stubbornly stays right of the hole.

A par-par start to the back nine.

  2. Kim moves into share of lead with MacIntyrepublished at 15:49 BST 12 July

    T Kim -13, Gotterup -11, Thorbjornsen -9 (4)

Dropped shot for the 2025 champ Chris Gotterup, who pays the price for his wayward tee shot, walking off the picturesque fourth with a bogey.

Tom Kim, however, makes the most of his excellent approach and drains a 16-footer for birdie, moving him into a share of the lead with Bob MacIntyre.

Michael Thorbjornsen makes a mess of a routine par attempt after his birdie attempt breezes past the hole and drops a shot.

Marty asked if he needed a jacket before he left the media tent and was told it's windy out there.

    Only himself to blame.

    McIlroy -10 (10)

It's a fine day here in East Lothian but the wind could certainly be described as bracing. Regretting my decision to opt for short sleeves.

The 11th is playing downwind and Rory McIlroy is primed to attack from the right-hand side of the fairway after blootering his drive. Let's see how he gets on from here.

  5. Pars all roundpublished at 15:41 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -13, Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -12 (3)

Bob MacIntyre's birdie putt doesn't drop, but it's a stress-free par for the leader.

Excellent up-and-downs from his playing partners ensure they stay at 12 under.

    To the fourth.

    Gotterup -12, T Kim -12, Thorbjornsen -10 (3)

Chris Gotterup is in some really nasty rough down the right at the fourth after a wayward tee shot.

The defending champion can only hack it out and it rolls over the fairway towards the North Sea and into more rough.

Tom Kim and Michael Thorbjornsen are both on the green in two though and have putts for birdie to come.

    McIlroy -10 (10)

Rory McIlroy's tee shot on the tenth finds a fairway bunker on the left, but he has a window to advance it towards the green before an excellent third.

He lands it short right, with the ball rolling around the contours and nestling a few feet shy of the hole.

A solid par putt follows, and he remains just three shy of the leaders.

    MacIntyre -13, Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -12 (2)

There won't be many players in the field as comfortable in breezy conditions as Bob MacIntyre, and he plays a delightful tee shot at the par-three third.

A low flight pierces the wind and rolls up just left of the flag.

Min Woo Lee and Matt Fitzpatrick both land on the front of the green before rolling back off the false front.

  9. MacIntyre into sole leadpublished at 15:29 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -13, Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -12 (2)

Matt Fitzpatrick doesn't judge his chip well at all and rolls back to the front of the green. He can only two-putt from there and drops a shot.

Bob MacIntyre had snagged a difficult lie, but a decent chip and putt saves par for the Scot.

Min Woo Lee also tidies up for par.

  10. Perez two off leaderspublished at 15:26 BST 12 July

    Perez -11 (7)

France's Victor Perez is making a move up the leaderboard.

Four birdies through his first seven holes, moving him to 11 under and just two off the lead.

He currently ties Rory McIlroy and Viktor Hovland for the round of the day so far, four shots better than par.

  11. What a shot!published at 15:22 BST 12 July

    Fleetwood -7 (6)

Tommy Fleetwood started slowly in this final round, making two bogeys in his first four holes.

However, he gets those strokes back at the sixth, holing out from 156 yards.

    A brilliant shot.

    MacIntyre -13, M.W. Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -13 (1)

Bob MacIntyre appears to be slightly blocked off down the right-hand side at the second, but hacks an iron just left of the green and will fancy making par from there.

Matt Fitzpatrick's approach has too much draw and finishes short-left, while Min Woo Lee's second shot lands on the green but trundles off to the right.

The wind is picking up a fair bit.

  13. Postpublished at 15:16 BST 12 July

    McIlroy -10 (9)

The McIlroy charge hits a bump.

A first bogey of the day comes just before the turn for the Northern Irishman as he three-putts the par three.

  14. Postpublished at 15:11 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -13, M.W. Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -13 (1)

Trouble off the second tee for Bob MacIntyre, who drags his drive right and into the trees.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Min Woo Lee are both safe down the left-hand side.

  15. Two birdies at the firstpublished at 15:08 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -13, Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -13 (1)

Bob MacIntyre's birdie putt is never anywhere but the heart of the hole - what a start for Oban's finest.

Matt Fitzpatrick also rolls in confidently, but Min Woo Lee's effort lips out.

  16. Postpublished at 15:04 BST 12 July

    McIlroy -11 (8)

Rory McIlroy is in trouble off the tee on the eighth, going wide right into nasty-looking thick stuff.

He thrashes one on to the green but it's a hefty distance from the pin, before making a good two-putt par save.

  17. Postpublished at 15:04 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -12, M.W. Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -12

Matt Fitzpatrick and Bob MacIntyre both pitch onto the first green with their third shots and have a look at birdie, although the Englishman is closer.

Min Woo Lee's approach is the best of the bunch though. Lovely control from the Australian.

Matt Fitzpatrick is absolutely the player to beat today, and maybe even next week. His form and overall game is nothing short of superb. It’s actually pretty rare for a player to win 3 times in a season. Today could be his forth.

Got to fancy Bob today. Home favourite. However, can't discount Fitzy and Gotterup.

  19. Kim & Gotterup join leaderspublished at 14:59 BST 12 July

    Kim -12, Gotterup -12 (1)

Tom Kim and Chris Gotterup grab a share of the lead.

Kim makes no mistake with a 12-footer for a birdie on the first.

It's the first time this week the South Korean has picked up a shot on this par five.

Not to be outdone, defending champ Gotterup also rolls in his birdie attempt.

    MacIntyre -12, Min Woo Lee -12, M. Fitzpatrick -12

Thankfully I can see where the final group ended up, Jack.

Bob MacIntyre and Min Woo Lee are in the first cut down the left, while Matt Fitzpatrick is on the right-hand side of the fairway.
