  2. What a shot!published at 18:57 BST 12 July

    T. Kim -16 (15)

From the fairway on 16, Tom Kim plays one of the shots of the tournament.

From just over 200 yards, he runs an iron up to within a few feet of the hole. Birdie here would be huge.

    MacIntyre -12, Lee -15, M. Fitzpatrick -14 (14)

A birdie here for Min Woo Lee would set up quite the finish...

The final group of the tournament enter The Thistle, the short 15th with grandstands surrounding the green.

Both Min Woo Lee and Bob MacIntyre stick it pin-high but a fair whack away with the putter to the left.

Matt Fitzpatrick's ball rolls up short but on the green.

  5. Lee moves within one of leadpublished at 18:49 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -12, Lee -15, M. Fitzpatrick -14 (14)

A birdie at 14 for Matt Fitzpatrick after an excellent splash out the bunker. He moves into a share of second... but only temporarily.

Min Woo Lee dinks on from the back of the green and drops his birdie putt to take second for himself and just one back from leader Tom Kim.

A birdie putt also falls for Bob MacIntyre to move him three back with five to play.

    Kim -16 (15)

Tom Kim's most recent PGA Tour victory was October 2023.

He is in command here in East Lothian, but closing out tournaments isn't easy.

He also has the memory of three-putting 18 earlier today.

The drivable 14th is next. Will any of this group get their ball on the green in one?

Bob MacIntyre finds the rough on the right of the green.

Min Woo Lee blasts it through to the other side.

Matt Fitzpatrick finds a bunker just shy of the dancefloor as his ball skips forward.

    A mixed bag.

    T. Kim -16 (14)

Tom Kim is a bit heavy-handed with his chip on to the 14th green and it drifts further past than he would like.

The birdie putt then misses to the right. He remains two clear but the door isn't closed for those in pursuit.

    S. Kim -11 (66)

Si Woo Kim gets in the clubhouse at 11 under, but is kicking himself after missing a short one at the last 18.

That bogey rounds off a second successive 66.

    McIlroy -12 (64)

It just feels like if Rory is going to be in contention at Royal Birkdale, he needs to work less on his swing and more on his mental strength. The swing has been forged over many decades under immense pressure, but his head doesn’t seem to be in the game.

    Chris

Certainly a bold claim to make about someone with a career grand slam and two green jackets, one of which he won just a few months ago.

What do you think, fair comment or wide of the mark?

    MacIntyre -11, Lee -14, M. Fitzpatrick -13 (13)

Matt Fitzpatrick has a look at birdie on the 13th, it's tracking all the way but teeters off the right at the last second. He taps in for par and stays three back.

Bob MacIntyre and Min Woo Lee also make do with par.

    T. Kim -16 (13)

The driveable 14th is playing as the second-easiest hole today.

Tom Kim is just off the green to the right in one blow. A prime birdie opportunity - will he take it?

  13. Postpublished at 18:23 BST 12 July

    T. Kim -16 (13)

Tom Kim hates his approach to the 13th. He overcooks it to the back of the green, leaving a tricky and quick downhill putt.

He gets the job done in two though. The leader remains the only player in the field yet to drop a shot in his final round.

  14. Eagle for MacIntyre & birdie for Leepublished at 18:18 BST 12 July

    MacIntyre -11, Lee -14, M. Fitzpatrick -13 (12)

It's been a frustrating day for Bob MacIntyre, but an immense driver off the deck at 12 leaves a 28ft eagle putt, which he sinks in emphatic style.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Min Woo Lee both have very similar birdie putts from about four feet.

Lee makes his, but Fitzpatrick misses.

Tom Kim's lead is back to two.

  16. Kim goes three clearpublished at 18:07 BST 12 July

    T. Kim -16 (12)

Tom Kim takes his time over a very makeable birdie putt on the par-five 12th.

It's a confident stroke and he walks it in!

It's Kim's tournament to lose, especially given that one hole ahead, Johnny Keefer's birdie try stops one roll short of the cup.

  17. McIlroy has things to 'rectify'published at 18:02 BST 12 July

    McIlroy -12 (64)

Rory McIlroy, currently the clubhouse leader on 12 under, has been speaking to the media after his fine round of 64.

"I felt like I was pretty much in control of everything after the first two days and then a long day yesterday," he says.

"Waiting around, didn't get off to the best of starts and then didn't finish the third round off today particularly well.

"Sort of pieced it together. Sort of realised what I was doing, tried to figure it out a bit on the range before I went out for my final round.

"At least I know what I'm doing. It's a matter of trying to rectify it. Obviously there was some good in there today but there was some bad as well so I'm going to need to work a little bit over the next couple of days to be ready for Thursday [The Open at Royal Birkdale]."

    Keefer -13 (12)

Johnny Keefer birdies the par-five 12th to move two behind the leaders and into a share of second.

He's on course to qualify for this coming week's Open at Royal Birkdale too, as one of the top three finishers who are yet to book their spot.

    Nakajima -13 (12)

Japan's Keita Nakajima moves into a share of second.

That's two birdies in three holes since the turn to take him within two shots of top spot.

There’s a steely focus on the faces of both Min Woo Lee and Matt Fitzpatrick, who are both very much in this still.

Bob MacIntyre - as ever - is easier to read. He’s happy with his drive down 11, which splits the fairway.

Fitzpatrick is a good 60-70 yards behind his playing partners after a bit of a duck hook off the tee.
