  3. 'Good to see Munar serving big ones again'published at 15:30 BST 2 July

    Fearnley 2-4 Munar*

    Arvind Parmar
Former British tennis player on BBC One

In the last couple of seasons, Jaume Munar has really improved his serve. It is the biggest improvement he has made in his game - and he is using the wind to his advantage on his service games.

It is encouraging for Munar because he suffered an arm injury at the start of the year that derailed him for a month or so. It is good to see him serving big ones again.

    Fearnley 2-4 Munar*

Oh, a second serve at 30-30 from Jacob Fearnley goes well long and so it's another break point for Jaume Munar.

And a groundstroke into the net means the Briton gives up the break midway through the first set.

  5. Break point Zverevpublished at 15:29 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

Boom. What a return. The ball sits up nicely for Alexander Zverev and he pounds a flat forehand winner on the diagonal.

  6. Third deucepublished at 15:29 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

This time it's Alexander Zverev who loses his line, sending a cross-court forehand into the tramlines. Valentin Royer did well to hang in on that baseline exchange.

  7. Game and first set - Blinkovapublished at 15:28 BST 2 July

    *Blinkova 7-6 (7-5) 0-0 Kostyuk

French Open semi-finalist Marta Kostyuk has a battle on her hands after losing the opening set on a tie-break against Anna Blinkova.

12th seed Kostyuk broke to lead 2-0 but Russia's Blinkova struck back immediately to put the set back on serve. They exchanged breaks again late in the set before Blinkova held her nerve in the tie-break.

  8. Break point Zverevpublished at 15:28 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

This is ominous. Valentin Royer tries to go toe-to-toe with Alexander Zverev but loses his radar on his backhand.

  9. Second deucepublished at 15:27 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

Alexander Zverev forces a second deuce with a hefty return.

  10. Deucepublished at 15:27 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

Laughter around Court One after a curious point.

Alexander Zverev, dashing to the corner, skies a forehand and it bounces up high after landing just on the right side of the net. Valentin Royer, who was up to the net, sways out of the way before burying his volley at an acute angle.

But Royer is facing another challenge to his serve, trading points with the German all the way to deuce.

  11. Munar holdspublished at 15:24 BST 2 July

    *Fearnley 2-3 Munar

Jaume Munar finishes his latest service game with a 134mph ace.

Jacob Fearnley recovers from 0-30 down with four straight points to hold serve.

  13. Zverev holds to 15published at 15:22 BST 2 July

    Zverev 3-1 Royer*

Alexander Zverev is looking very casual, strolling around from corner to corner in between points.

Valetin Royer, by contrast, mutters to himself and wags his racquet back and forth after sending a forehand long.

  14. 'Royer to be competitive in the early stages'published at 15:20 BST 2 July

    *Zverev 2-1 Royer

    Mark Woodforde
17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

I would expect Royer to be competitive in the very early stages. He's a player that likes to play strong but, can he hold it for three games against the newly crowned Roland Garros champion?

  15. Zverev breakspublished at 15:19 BST 2 July

    *Zverev 2-1 Royer

An early break for Alexander Zverev as Valentin Royer nets a backhand.

The Frenchman has a conversation with his box at the change of ends. He needs to try and move Zverev around and not get drawn into lengthy baseline slog-fests.

  16. 'Swiatek looked a lot more comfortable'published at 15:19 BST 2 July

    Pliskova 1-6 3-6 Swiatek

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC One

Just looking at the scoreline, it seems Iga Swiatek is feeling much more comfortable now. It is a lot to come out here as defending champion, she has probably been thinking about that moment all year.

She looked a lot more comfortable. She looked happier. Especially on grass, every match you get under your belt makes you feel a lot more comfortable.

Remember Swiatek lost a lot earlier than expected on the one tournament she played on grass before this, so she didn't have a lot of preparation on this surface.

  17. Break points Zverevpublished at 15:17 BST 2 July

    Zverev 1-1 Royer*

I was just musing that no one had come into the net yet... right on cue, Valentin Royer comes on the approach but Alexander Zverev whips through a two-handed backhand pass for 15-30.

Zverev earns his first two break points with a hefty cross-court forehand which a reaching Royer dribbles into the net.

  18. Zverev holdspublished at 15:15 BST 2 July

    Zverev 1-1 Royer*

An equally routine hold for Alexander Zverev in his opening service game.

He's hit a couple of loose strokes in these first two games, firing a backhand and a forehand long, but he's otherwise giving it plenty of biff from the back of the court.

  19. Fearnley saves break point to holdpublished at 15:15 BST 2 July

    Fearnley 1-1 Munar*

Jaume Munar slips on the grass at the back of the court and gets up a little gingerly afterwards.

Jacob Fearnley finds himself down a break point but a volley winner at the net saves that and he goes on to hold with little further alarm.

Alexandra Eala is through to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.

A huge victory over Maya Joint, who beat Serena Williams in round one, means Eala will take on defending champion Iga Swiatek next.

There's delight and relief on the face of Eala as she celebrates after putting a difficult first set to one side and completing a come-from-behind victory.
