"Excuse me, can you just move that?" the umpire says to one of the ball kids.

There's not a spare seat to be seen on Court 18, with fans flocking in to see Arthur Fery - one of only four Brits left standing in singles.

He's ranked 26 places higher than Otto Virtanen, but the Finn did knock out fourth seed Ben Shelton in the biggest shock of the men's draw so far.

A solid start for the Briton as he begins his bid to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time.

Also in action early on day four are Australia's Alex de Minaur and American Taylor Fritz, the fifth and sixth seeds in the men's draw respectively.

Fritz arrived in style for his first-round match against Dusan Lajovic, wearing an all-white blazer and trouser combo over his usual tennis attire.

He backed up his grand arrival with a dominant 6-3 6-4 6-3 win, but later revealed the outfit had made him more nervous than usual.

"You show up in a full outfit and get snipped in the first round, you kind of look stupid," Fritz said. "You look really stupid, honestly."

In the Open era, which began in 1968, there have only been two occasions when no British players have reached the third round of the singles draws at Wimbledon. They were in 1990 and 2007.

The first person who has the chance to stop that from happening again in 2026 is world number 114 Arthur Fery, who takes on Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen.

Virtanen is ranked 26 places below Fery in the world rankings but caused one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far by knocking out fourth seed Ben Shelton in round one.
