    McIlroy -2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -7 (12*)

McIlroy has 242 yards from the tee and finds the green on the par three fourth - he has 16 feet. Another good birdie opportunity for the Northern Irishman.

Cantlay finds the bunker, while DJ has about 25 feet.

    Frittelli -7 (12)

Steady Dylan. Save that balance for the surfing.

After pars at 11 and 12 the South African is in trouble on the wrong side of Rae's Creek. Looks like he's played a decent enough recovery shot from a bank over on the left above the water.

His next job is to negotiate getting back across to the fairway over some rocks..

  3. Ancer joins the leadpublished at 18:50 GMT 13 November 2020

    Ancer -8 (15*)

Abraham Ancer is having a Masters debut to remember. The Texas-born Mexican joins Dustin Johnson at the top with a birdie at the par-three sixth, his 15th.

That's five for the 29-year-old today, and just the one blemish on his first hole of the day at 10.

  4. Bogey for Impublished at 18:46 GMT 13 November 2020

    Im -6 (10*)

Back-to-back bogeys through the turn for Sungjae Im, as he slips away from the lead.

  5. Cantlay one off the leadpublished at 18:44 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy -2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -7 (12*)

Johnson grins as his putt almost does a 360 and stays out!

    Rotten luck.

Cantlay holes his birdie - he is now only a shot off DJ's lead.

McIlroy settles for par again. He could do with making another move soon.

  6. Mickelson's magicpublished at 18:41 GMT 13 November 2020

    Mickelson -4 (14*)

Some silly mistakes one minute, a moment of sheer brilliance the next.

Welcome to the world of Phil Alfred Mickelson. Most of my colleagues would probably opt to lay up to the side after seeing their route to the hole blocked by a line of trees.

Not Lefty. He blitzes straight through and gets a birdie as his reward. Some shot.

  7. Postpublished at 18:39 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy -2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -5 (11*)

Cantlay set to go within one of the lead following a chip to about two feet of the pin on the par-four third.

McIlroy's ball plops about 10 feet right of the hole and Johnson's is about a foot closer in.

    Downhill putts for the pair.

  8. Bogey for Koepkapublished at 18:32 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -7, Koepka -4, Fitzpatrick E (12*)

Brooks Koepka was on the climb, but he leaks a speedy putt beyond the pin and can only make it down for bogey. Back to four under for the former world number one, who's still chasing his first Green Jacket.

Pars for JT and Matthew Fitzpatrick. On to the par-three fourth...

  9. Postpublished at 18:30 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy -2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -5 (11*)

No goblets for McIlroy yet - his eagle putt on the second drifts left. But a birdie awaits him.

DJ, who played a six iron to the green, is about to leave a par five with a five. Ouch!

McIlroy makes his birdie as does Cantlay, who is now two shots shy of leader Johnson.

We mentioned earlier the joys of working from home in these unprecedented times. Well, my "new normal" at the moment is working on the Masters with the lights off and a disco ball spinning around the front room while my three-month-old son enjoys some baby sensory time...

You don't get this at Augusta National.

  11. Eagle = crystal gobletspublished at 18:26 GMT 13 November 2020

So Bubba Watson just made an eagle and uttered something about "crystal".

Well, any player making an eagle at Augusta receives a pair of crystal goblets. So Watson and a handful of other players will need to make room in their awards cabinets because we've already witnessed a number of eagles.

If a player manages an albatross then it's a large crystal bowl. How exciting!

  12. Fritelli's surfing surprisepublished at 18:22 GMT 13 November 2020

    Frittelli -7 (10)

That's nice from Dylan Frittelli who sinks a tricky putt from 12ish feet for birdie on 10.

The South African is pretty much where he started the second round after three birdies and three bogeys but he can still say that he is winning today after being in a three-way tie for the lead earlier in the day.

An avid surfer, just check out his exchange with 11-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater, who offered him a free day at the Surf Ranch (think of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory for kids) if he took or tied for the lead.

    Im -9 (8*)

Easy does it for Sungjae Im, the joint leader. The 22-year-old raced to eight under par, dropped a shot, claimed it back immediately and has now settled into a couple of pars.

He's through eight today, going along swimmingly.

  14. Birdie for Thomaspublished at 18:19 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -7, Koepka -5, Fitzpatrick E (11*)

So close! Koepka's birdie putt wobbles on the rim of the cup but decides not to drop. Hands on head for the American, he can't quite believe it.

Matthew Fitzpatrick does find a birdie though, and that brings him back to level par.

Finally, Justin Thomas. An eight-footer to move within one shot of the lead. Down it goes, never in doubt...

  15. Bogey for Mickelsonpublished at 18:16 GMT 13 November 2020

    Mickelson -3 (12*)

Mixed fortunes for Phil Mickelson on the front nine with a bogey, birdie and bogey.

The latest of which comes despite getting on the dancefloor in two and after having a relatively simple wedge of what looked like 60-70 yards into the pin.

  16. Postpublished at 18:16 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -6, Koepka -5, Fitzpatrick +1 (10*)

Can Justin Thomas claw a couple of those dropped shots back at the par-five second. His third shot is eight feet short of the pin. Brooks Koepka has a long-ranger for a birdie of his own.

  17. Up and down for Rosepublished at 18:11 GMT 13 November 2020

    Rose -4 (9*)

We've not seen much of Justin Rose this afternoon. He had a great first round, finishing off earlier on today at five under par.

He started on the 10th with a bogey, followed that with another on the 11th before bouncing back with a birdie on the 12th.

Pars on the par-five 13th and 15th holes have hurt him though, coming either side of a bogey on 14.

Another birdie on 16 has kept him interested but he's missed a five-footer to pick up another shot on the 18th.

  19. Postpublished at 18:11 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy -1, Johnson -8, Cantlay -5 (10*)

Johnson fails to put enough pace on his putt as it slopes right before the hole.

McIlroy has four feet for his par and makes it. Good putting again from the four-time major winner.

  20. Postpublished at 18:04 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy -1, Johnson -8, Cantlay -5 (9*)

McIlroy has a tough two putt on the first after his approach rolls back down to the front of the green.

Johnson has a birdie chance after he kills his ball dead to about 10 feet left of the hole.
