    McIlroy +2, Johnson -7, Cantlay -1 (1*)

McIlroy's drive on the 505-yard par four 11th veers right. He avoids the potpourri unlike co-leader Johnson. Spot of bother DJ?

Cantlay does find the fairway. That's how it's done lads!

South Africa's Dylan Frittelli reckoned going out again after a 30-minute pit stop would potentially enable him to maintain his first-round momentum.

Wonder if he still thinks that after picking up a bogey on one?

  4. 'That's so bad'published at 15:46 GMT 13 November 2020

Rory McIlroy needs plenty of birdies after a disastrous opening round at Augusta National.

This was one of the worst shots of his morning's work. Don't take our word for it though...

  5. McIlroy birdie; Johnson stays in joint leadpublished at 15:44 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +2, Johnson -7, Cantlay -1 (1*)

Cantlay misses his par putt after an unfortunate approach.

McIlroy makes his birdie putt on the 10th and is back to two over. He needs a really low scoring round here. An eagle or two would be handy, but that's a big ask considering how he's been playing.

Johnson makes par to stay at seven under.

  6. Postpublished at 15:43 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -5, Koepka -1, Fitzpatrick +2 (1*)

Justin Thomas with 196 yards into the flag at 11, lands his approach around eight feet away from it.

Brooks Koepka comes at it just short and Matthew Fitzpatrick is also on at a similar distance - nice looking trio of approaches there, scattered around the pin.

Rose -5 (second round begins at 15:36 GMT)

English golfer Justin Rose, who finished his first round on five under - two shots off the lead: "Not as much game as I usually bring here. I'm actually driving the ball well though. I know how to read these greens.

"Twenty minutes (interval between rounds) is probably the right time - enough time to grab a sandwich. For me it feels like the continuation of the day."

  9. Postpublished at 15:36 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +3, Johnson -7, Cantlay -2

Johnson and Cantlay both hit mudballs - unpredictable off the face of the clubs. DJ's approach to the 10th green is OK, but his fellow American's drifts off on down the bank on the left.

McIlroy plops his eight feet from the hole. Now then Rory...

Not the start to his second round Justin Thomas had in mind. He opens with a bogey at the 10th to drop back to five under par. It was a quick turnaround for the world number three, who only just completed his opening round.

Brooks Koepka also starts with a bogey. Uh oh.

South Africa's Dylan Frittelli has been having a natter with reporters and reflecting on grabbing a share of the early lead: "It’s the first major I have played at the same venue so I felt comfortable playing the golf course, with my own emotions and (finding my) way around the course.

"I am very proud of the way I played. I am going to hopefully try and make some more birdies this afternoon."

He will not have long to wait to see if he can manage that. His second round has just got under way on the first.

Here's Justin Rose finishing up an excellent opening round.

He was in a bit of bother off the tee, in among the trees, but a hoick out, a chip on and confident par putt sees him complete a 67.

A quick pimento cheese sandwich and he'll be back out for round two.

  17. Birdie for Mickelsonpublished at 15:19 GMT 13 November 2020

    Mickelson -4 (1*)

What a sublime start to the second round for Phil Mickelson.

Lefty knows this track pretty well having won here three times and he zips a lovely iron shot into within three feet on the 10th to set up an easy birdie chance.

  18. Co-leader Johnson finds the backdoor for an eaglepublished at 15:17 GMT 13 November 2020
