  1. Birdie chance for Koepkapublished at 16:32 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -4, Koepka -3, Fitzpatrick +3 (5*)

Brooks Koepka is finding some form after that opening bogey today. He has two birdies on the bounce and has given himself another chance at 14 with a well-weighted approach to around 12 feet.

The American has had a year fragmented by injury but you wouldn't back against him at Augusta.

The former world number one has the line, looks to have the speed too... not quite, just a rotation short of dropping in for three in a row.

  2. DJ spinning - goes three clearpublished at 16:32 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +1, Johnson -10, Cantlay -3 (4*)

A very well judged putt from Patrick Cantlay from distance leaves him with a birdie opportunity, which he takes.

McIlroy's grimaces as his slides by an inch.

And Dustin Johnson? His approach play and putting in this second round has been extraordinary.

The world number one seals his third birdie on the trot.

  3. Postpublished at 16:30 GMT 13 November 2020

    Fleetwood -3 (6)

Tommy Fleetwood is going along rather nicely today after an opening round 71.

The Englishman didn't have the best of starts with a bogey on the first after finding the trees from the tee but he has picked up since then.

Three straight birdies and a couple of pars have made his card a touch easier on the eye.

  4. Postpublished at 16:25 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +1, Johnson -9, Cantlay -2 (3*)

DJ's third shot, after his lay-up, is quite simply wonderful. A very puttable birdie chance. Johnson is setting the standard and pace in round two.

McIlroy's approach lands a few feet further back, but he also has a chance of picking up a shot.

  5. Postpublished at 16:22 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +1, Johnson -9, Cantlay -2 (3*)

McIlroy hooks his shot out from behind the trees on the 13th, but a possible eagle chance has gone.

He could have done with one here. Maybe a birdie though.

  6. Birdie for Ancerpublished at 16:20 GMT 13 November 2020

    Ancer -5 (5*)

That nice from Masters debutant Abraham Ancer at 14.

The Mexican, looks as though he is gripping a wedge or nine iron as he casually lofts one into a few feet.

That's his second birdie of the day after recovering from a bogey on 10.

  7. Birdie for Koepka as JT stumblespublished at 16:19 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -4, Koepka -3, Fitzpatrick +3 (4*)

Oh no! Justin Thomas is in all sorts of bother.

After tugging his tee shot into the trees and having to take an unplayable, the world number three stings his fourth shot into the green but leaves it short of the pin and it looks like backtracking all the way into the creek... it anchors down on the bank instead.

A handy break, think he'll get away with just the one dropped shot. Matthew Fitzpatrick also bogeys. Now what about Brooks?

Koepka is faced with an eagle putt, tickles it down the hill and it just flirts with the cup on its way by. He bends his knees in frustration. Birdie it is.

  8. Langer moving in the right directionpublished at 16:16 GMT 13 November 2020

    Langer -5 (3)

Bernhard Langer is back on the birdie bus.

The German started his second round with a bogey-five at the first, but has followed that with birdies on the second and third to improve his score to five under.

The 63-year-old is carrying on the good form he was showing a little earlier today.

  9. Postpublished at 16:15 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +1, Johnson -9, Cantlay -2 (3*)

Johnson's three wood off the 13th tee finds the red chipping, but it'll be OK.

McIlroy is deeper in that stuff as his ball nestles against a coiled TV cable. Cosy.

Patrick Cantlay's effort also drifts right but he finds the fairway, which he's been very good at doing today.

  10. Birdie for Smithpublished at 16:13 GMT 13 November 2020

    Smith -7 (4)

Dare I say that Cameron Smith is rocking a bit of a Rudi Voller-esque mullett but it is not doing him any harm at all.

The Australian plops in to around 15 feet on the fourth before rolling in his putt to move up into a tie for second.

  11. Postpublished at 16:11 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -5, Koepka -2, Fitzpatrick +2 (3*)

Justin Thomas has to take a unplayable, pegging him right back near the tee box - not even got a sight of the flag from there. Just thuds it further down the fairway to be safe.

Matthew Fitzpatrick finds himself in a similar predicament.

Brooks Koepka just cracks on and is on the green in two to set up a long eagle chance.

  12. Johnson moves two clear; McIlroy second birdiepublished at 16:09 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +1, Johnson -9, Cantlay -2 (3*)

Not convincing from Cantlay as his birdie putt slides left and lacks pace.

McIlroy makes another birdie to go to one over. Don't get too excited yet.

DJ copies Rory - the only difference being that he's now two shots clear at the top of the leaderboard.

  13. Thomas in troublepublished at 16:08 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -5, Koepka -2, Fitzpatrick +2 (3*)

Justin Thomas is going on safari, he's buried deep in the Augusta bush. His tee shot off the par-five 13th went a long way left - this is the hole that caused Bryson DeChambeau so much grief yesterday. If JT was trying to clear those pines, he's got it all wrong.

  14. Postpublished at 16:04 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -2 (2*)

Johnson attacks the par-three 12th and lands the ball plum within 12 feet of the hole.

Patrick Cantlay is safely over the creek and McIlroy's iron... also lands on the other side of the Ben Hogan Bridge.

  15. Splash!published at 16:01 GMT 13 November 2020

    Mickelson -4 (4*)

Three pars on the spin for Phil Mickelson now after starting with a birdie.

Still it could have been a lot worse for him on Azalea aka the 13th.

His second, a raking iron shot from the left of the fairway doesn't have the legs to make the dance floor and runs off into Rae's Creek, leaving him an up and down for par.

If that had gone to plan he'd have been in eagle territory.

  16. Birdie for Brookspublished at 15:59 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -5, Koepka -2, Fitzpatrick +2 (3*)

    Brooks KoepkaImage source, Getty Images

Enjoying Brooks Koepka's two-tone off-green polo today, reminds me of the clobber you'd pull out of the lost property basket at school when you forgot your PE kit.

It works for him at 12 though, the American jabs his tee shot 20 feet right of the pin at the par-three Golden Bell and walks it all the way in from there.

  17. Johnson leads Masterspublished at 15:58 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +2, Johnson -8, Cantlay -2 (2*)

    Dustin JohnsonImage source, Getty Images

McIlroy employs a putter from off the 11th green on the right and is about five feet short. He just cannot get on a run here!

Cantlay seals his birdie - back to two under.

And DJ? He holes his too.

The world number one leads the 2020 Masters.

  18. Johnson eyes outright leadpublished at 15:54 GMT 13 November 2020

    McIlroy +2, Johnson -7, Cantlay -1 (1*)

Lovely iron from just off the fairway from Johnson as he sets himself up with a birdie chance on the 11th.

Cantlay, from a better lie, also finds himself about seven feet from the hole.

  19. Low numbers needed to make the weekend?published at 15:53 GMT 13 November 2020

The lowest score for the cut (after 36 holes) in Masters history is 145, which is one over.

However, now that the 10-shot rule has gone and the course is still playing a little soft it would not really be a surprise to see that record go as well.

The lowest-scoring 50 players will all make the cut this year following a change to the rules after 65 players made the weekend in 2019.

Had this new rule been in place last year, nine fewer golfers would have made the cut. In 2013 the criteria changed from the top 44 and ties (plus those within 10 shots) to the top 50 and ties.

  20. Birdie for Fitzpatrickpublished at 15:48 GMT 13 November 2020

    Thomas -5, Koepka -1, Fitzpatrick +1 (2*)

    Matthew FitzpatrickImage source, Getty Images

Brooks Koepka's birdie putt can't quite find the target, neither can Justin Thomas' effort.

Matthew Fitzpatrick watches the American pair and then trickles his right into the heart of the cup. The Englishman is back to one over.
