Have you been speaking to my other half, Will?
Hello, Jofra! A big sweep at Ashwin brings four to get off the mark.

Can someone please explain the point of international Test cricket?
Will, Suffolk
You weren't planning on watching the cricket at the weekend, were you?
Jofra Archer is in.

England have crumbled. They were 74-2.
Stokes lbw Axar 6 (Eng 81-6)
I'm going for a walk in the woods.
This is a procession. Ben Stokes is lbw to Axar Patel, playing all around one that hasn't turned. Right back on his stumps, it's hit high on the back leg and the review says it's clipping the top of off.
England have lost four wickets for seven runs.

That was another straight ball. His only hope is it was a little high.
Eng 81-5
Oh no.
It's Stokes.
This must be out?
Jonathan Agnew

It is different from the last Test. It is turning but is not unplayable.
Ben Foakes is the new man. We're one ball from Jofra Archer being in.

It is not easy is it? I just wonder whether on the first day you should be playing for the ball that does not spin. The ball has not really spun there. The problem is the ball before did.
All England can hope for is they get plenty of bowling under the floodlights later.

India are all over this Test match.
Pope b Ashwin 1 (Eng 81-5)
Strewth.
Ollie Pope has had his belly tickled by Ravi Ashwin. It's a mesmeric piece of bowling, Pope playing for the off-break, only for the ball to hold its line (even go the other way?) and take the off stump.
Pope looks like witchcraft has taken place in front of his eyes.
India have five. England are sinking.
The players are back out. Twenty minutes isn't long, is it?

Death, taxes and "England slump" as the BBC cricket headline...
Ethan, London
I had breakfast during the first session.
You know those yoghurts where you mix the yoghurty bit with the fruit? You know, where the fruit is at the bottom and the white stuff on top.
Does anyone NOT mix them together?
Also, is there anywhere you just buy the good bit? Or is it just the same as getting a jar of jam?
Early days, I know, but how's this Test working out for you?
Not what's on the pitch, but what's happening for you at home.
When I took my son to nursery he asked me "have you got to do cricket?"
I said yes. He's only two. There's no need yet to tell him that daddy isn't playing for England.

Henry Ellison: Hope we produce green tops when India come to England.
Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on The Cricket Social
From this position, anything over 200 would be a good effort. The worry is that Jofra Archer is at eight. The tail is long.
Thank you, Matthew.
Batting looks tricky, doesn't it?
