Well, that was a complete and utter disaster, wasn't it?

England need the ball to be zipping and moving and hope India get a bit complacent.

Christian Crowther-Smith: That's all Foakes.
Foakes b Axar 12 (Eng 112 all out)
All over.
Yet again an England batsman is done by one that doesn't turn, with Ben Foakes looking to cut one that is miles too close.
Axar Patel has six wickets. England are 112 all out.
Game over?

There were legitimate complaints about the pitch last week but there are none here.
Jasprit Bumrah comes back, with a Foakes single leaving Anderson in the firing line. In the fading light, Jimmy has to smell the leather, then does very well to dig out a yorker. Anderson has been around the block too often to fall for the old one-two combo.
Jonathan Agnew
BBC cricket correspondent on The Cricket Social
England have made a complete mess of it. If you watch the highlights you may say they were all just missing straight balls. This is not a bad pitch at all and you've got to look at the balance of this side, with Archer batting at eight.
Jimmy Anderson is the new man. Give yourself a few to bowl at, Jimmy...
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on The Cricket Social
A good tactic there by India, crowding Stuart Broad so all he could play was the sweep shot. Axar has bowled very nicely, he's done the job.
Broad c Bumrah b Axar 3 (Eng 105-9)
There's no reviewing this one.
Stuart Broad sweeps Axar Patel straight into the hands of Jasprit Bumrah at deep square leg.
Axar, in only his second Test, has his second five-for.
England are nearly bowling.
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on The Cricket Social
England can't let India get anything more than 300 - or even 250 - otherwise they're out of the game.
Ashwin is over the wicket to Broad, perhaps bringing that carrom ball into the game. Now back round. It's gloomy. Makes you wonder if some pace might be worth a go in this light.

If anyone can bring England back in the game it has to be Stuart Broad and James Anderson. They've got to do it to make up for the failure of their batsmen.
If you gave England the chance to change their team and pick another spinner, would they take it?
Picking some batsmen might have helped.
Apparently it'll be nice at the weekend...

Any hint of torrential rain in Ahmedabad over the next few days?

Couldn't agree more. What is it about those signs at roadworks that say "due to be completed before the Four Horsemen arrive"?
Don't tell me. I'd rather not know.

A lot of the dismissals today have been down to a lack of skill or not reading the delivery. That is was England will be worrying about.
