On my way to the media centre earlier, I walked a hole with one of the overnight leaders Rasmus Hojgaard.

After a wayward tee shot on 11, he trudged down the fairway on his own before discarding a banana peel into a nearby bush.

“Wow” was his response to seeing his lie in some thick rough, before a stronger reaction followed his second shot, which scoots off the left of the green.

The Dane couldn't tidy up for par and made a disappointing bogey having got himself to six under earlier this morning.

He did then bounce back at 12 with an excellent birdie.

Hello, good morning and welcome back to the Renaissance Club for day two of the 2026 Scottish Open.

It's another beautiful sunny day in East Lothian with a host of big names jostling for position at the top of the leaderboard.

Rory McIlroy was one of five players at five-under par overnight as the Northern Irishman took advantage of more benign morning conditions.

There's already been plenty of movement as the world's best attack this golf course, and you can expect plenty more in the hours to come.
