    Reed -6 (14*)

Through 14 holes today, Patrick Reed has made four birdies and no bogeys.

A very solid showing from the American, who is just three back.

    Smith -9 (17*)

Jordan Smith follows his birdie at the seventh with a confident par at the eighth - his 17th hole of the day.

He's doing everything he can to keep his two-shot lead intact.

His round of seven under for the day is the best so far with one hole to go.

    As you were.

Three birdie looks all go begging on the par three.

Pretty glum faces on the march to the sixth tee.

  6. Solid day two from Willettpublished at 12:24 BST 10 July

    Willett 67

Danny Willett is off to sign his scorecard and tuck into some lunch.

The Englishman has carded an excellent three-under 67 for the day, setting him up nicely for the weekend at six under for the tournament, and currently in a tie for third.

Time to get the feet up and relax now, his work is done for the day.

  7. Migliozzi marching onpublished at 12:16 BST 10 July

    Migliozzi -6 (14)

Italy's Guido Migliozzi is having a day.

After a birdie on the first and a bogey on the second, the 29-year-old has carded four birdies and eight pars, leaving him four under for the day.

He is currently in a share for third with Danny Willett and just three off leader Jordan Smith, but hasn't won since June 2024 at the KLM Open.

  8. Birdie for Smithpublished at 12:13 BST 10 July

    Smith -9 (16*)

We said Jordan Smith would need to bounce back from that bogey at six, and he does so in fine style.

Two mighty whacks get the leader to the edge of the green at the par-five seventh, and a chip and a putt from there take him two clear once more.

He's putting together some round out there - seven under for the day.

  9. Birdies for Fleetwood and Fitzpatrickpublished at 12:11 BST 10 July

    Fleetwood -2, Scheffler -1, M. Fitzpatrick -7 (13*)

    That trio fare pretty well.

All three find the green with their approach shots, before Tommy Fleetwood and Matt Fitzpatrick convert for birdies.

No such luck for Scottie Scheffler, who two-putts for par.

The projected cut line is two-under, remember.

The fourth is the best hole on the course in my humble opinion.

Hugging the coast, accuracy off the tee is paramount to set up an angle of attack into the narrow green where the pin today is back left.

Let's see how this trio fare...

  11. Where is the danger? Where are the opportunities?published at 12:01 BST 10 July

Currently, the 18th, 11th, second, eighth, and 16th - in that order - are playing as the most difficult five holes on the course. They're all par fours, too.

There have already been 15 double bogeys or worse across the first, eighth, and 18th this week.

Conversely, the 14th, 12th, seventh, first, and fourth are playing as the easiest holes out there.

Three of them are par fives, in fairness.

  12. Bogey for Smithpublished at 11:55 BST 10 July

    Smith -8 (15*)

Jordan Smith's first bogey of the day comes at the sixth, where he finds the green with his approach shot, but takes three shots from there.

He can't let that affect him with three holes to play.

Possibly some 'names' sliding out before the weekend. I fancy Rasmus Hojgaard to win only because he's due a return to form of which he is capable and especially with a dodgy Saturday weather forecast. But of course I could be horribly wrong.

  15. Scheffler among big names facing an early exitpublished at 11:45 BST 10 July

The top 65 players plus ties will return for the weekend after the cut has been made.

Currently, the projected score to keep you here for a couple more days is two under, and that puts some big names on the brink.

As it stands, Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood will be out.

Joining them would be Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele, Adam Scott, and John Rahm, among others.

Plenty of time yet, and plenty of golf to be played, but Scheffler's remarkable record of cuts made is in peril right now.

Huge crowds are following this marquee group but you can hear a pin drop as Matt Fitzpatrick spills another shot after landing in greenside bunker.

Scottie Scheffler completes a sand save and Tommy Fleetwood gets the job done from a tricky spot at the back of the green.

  17. Smith extends leadpublished at 11:34 BST 10 July

    Smith -9 (14*)

Jordan Smith is on the charge.

He drops his tee shot at the par-three fifth to 15 feet and confidently rolls in the birdie putt to extend his lead to two shots over fellow countryman Matt Fitzpatrick.

That is Smith's 12th birdie of the tournament, more than any other player so far.

  18. Bogey for Hillpublished at 11:31 BST 10 July

    Hill -5 (12*)

Calum Hill finds the greenside bunker at the third and isn't able to get up and down for his par.

The leading Scot in the field drops a shot.

When do the rule makers of golf start penalising swearing? First and second time shots gone - if it continues remove from course. What goes on on TV comes to local courses. Also, this morning Matt Fitzpatrick was checking the wind before his shot, then Tommy Fleetwood does the same and then Scottie Scheffler. If you are second or third off the tee do your calculations while waiting. It makes me mad, it's as if some players only start their prep when the cameras are on them.

Barely a flicker of emotion from Scottie Scheffler as he rolls in a tremendous birdie putt to get back under par for the week.

Matt Fitzpatrick has to settle for par, with gasps from the galleries as his birdie attempt drifts narrowly past.

Tommy Fleetwood scrambles a good par after a wild drive way right into the cabbage.
