  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:54 GMT 29 December 2025

    Wrexham 1-0 Preston

Kieffer Moore has not reappeared after half-time having pulled up just before the break.

    Sam Smith is now involved.

Wrexham will not want to be without their top scorer for any length of time.

  2. Postpublished at 20:53 GMT 29 December 2025

    Portsmouth 0-0 Charlton

This is more like it now. Chances at both ends as Zak Swanson gets on the end of a rebound for Portsmouth from Terry Devlin's strike, but his effort flies just over the bar from a matter of six yards out.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:53 GMT 29 December 2025

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Blackburn

Matty Litherland has been a breath of fresh air in the last three games for Blackburn and he is so close to giving his side the lead.

Forward from his right-wing-back role, his effort from the inside-right position is finger-tipped around the far post by Pierce Charles.

Whatever was said at the break has worked for the visitors.

Ross McCrorie finds Adam Randell with a cut back and the latter has his first goal in a Bristol City shirt.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:52 GMT 29 December 2025

    Portsmouth 0-0 Charlton

So close to an opener at Fratton Park!

Nicolas Schmid comes to Pompey's rescue as he makes a great save to deny Charlton's Reece Burke from point-blank range.

  6. Postpublished at 20:51 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

A good chance for Southampton striker Adam Armstrong as the visitors work it well again, this time down the right.

It's pulled back for Armstrong who fires a low first time effort but it's well blocked.

  7. Postpublished at 20:50 GMT 29 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Watford have made a change before getting the second period going.

Vivaldo Semedo is on for Luca Kjerrumgaard.

We await our first goal in Norfolk.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:48 GMT 29 December 2025

    Millwall 1-0 Bristol City

Millwall have made a change at the break.

Ryan Leonard is on at the expense of Billy Mitchell.

  9. SECOND HALFpublished at 20:47 GMT 29 December 2025

It's hard to keep track of these different kick-off times tonight, but rest assured, we are resuming in the 7.45pm matches.

  10. Postpublished at 20:46 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

An entertaining opening half an hour at St Andrew's in which both sides have had a sight of goal but not been able to convert.

Southampton are starting to grow back into the contest.

  11. 'Blues the better of the two sides'published at 20:46 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Blues have had the better of the first 30 minutes.

They've created the better chances and they've worked harder to win the ball back.

  12. Postpublished at 20:43 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

Better from Southampton as they work it well with a tidy move around the area before getting it to top goalscorer Adam Armstrong.

Armstrong manages to poke an effort towards goal but it's fairly comfortable for Blues keeper James Beadle.

  13. Postpublished at 20:40 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

Tonda Eckert oversaw six wins in his opening seven games as Saints boss since taking over from Will Still.

But his side have failed to win any of their past three (D1 L2) and have struggled to get going so far tonight. Can Southampton up it a notch or two?

Blues the better side so far.

  14. Postpublished at 20:37 GMT 29 December 2025

    Birmingham 0-0 Southampton

Another good move by Birmingham and they force a corner on the right-hand side.

Blues work it short and Patrick Roberts swings in a teasing delivery for Jack Robinson to meet it, but it hits his shoulder and squirts just wide.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 GMT 29 December 2025

    Leicester 2-1 Derby

Leicester goalscorer Jordan James celebrates in front of fansImage source, Shutterstock

A 100th league meeting between these two which has certainly entertained.

Two goals inside the opening 10 minutes saw Bobby De Cordova-Reid slot Leicester into the lead only for Rhian Brewster to quickly equalise.

Luke Thomas then shot across the face of goal before he then sent Jordan James racing away to put the Foxes back in front four minutes before the interval.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 GMT 29 December 2025

    Stoke 0-0 Sheff Utd

In the reverse fixture three weeks ago, the Blades were already 3-0 up when the half-time whistle went.

A different story so far tonight, neither team having much to speak of by way of goalmouth action.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:36 GMT 29 December 2025

    Wrexham 1-0 Preston

Nathan Broadhead celebratesImage source, PA Media

Nathan Broadhead's goal separates the teams, but a worry for Wrexham as Kieffer Moore limps off just before the break.

That will be a concern for the Dragons if that is anything serious.

  18. 'Boro lacking clear-cut chances'published at 20:36 GMT 29 December 2025

    HT: Middlesbrough 0-1 Hull

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

We've had all the ball but we haven't had those clear-cut chances.

The majority of the game we've been camped in their half but the first shot on target comes in the 46th minute. It's about creating opportunities and that's the one thing we haven't been able to do.

I'd like to see their goal again as I just feel there was a couple of runners that weren't picked up.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 GMT 29 December 2025

    Middlesbrough 0-1 Hull

Leaders Coventry lost at home to third-placed Ipswich earlier.

And second-placed Middlesbrough are trailing to Hull thanks to that early Darko Gyabi goal.

But they test Ivor Pandur right on half-time as he saves a low shot from Tommy Conway.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 GMT 29 December 2025

    Norwich 0-0 Watford

Watford's Max Alleyne has come closest to giving us a goal as he struck a post with a shot.

Kenny McLean has fired wide for Norwich while Tom Ince was also off target for the visitors.

It is a bit of a slow burn to be honest.
