  1. Contest comes to life

    After a very quiet start to the contest, Wrexham have just had three shots at goal in the space of a few minutes.

    Josh Windass, Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore have all had efforts, and that's lifted the home fans after what has been an uneventful contest thus far.

    And as I type this, Mads Frokjaer-Jensen tests Arthur Okonkwo at the other end.

  2. Will Birmingham end winter blues against Saints?

    December has not been too kind to Birmingham City.

    Blues made it four wins from six games when they beat Watford 2-1 at St Andrew's on the first day of the month - a result which left them one point and one place behind the play-off spots.

    But they're without a win in five since then (D2 L3) and have slipped to 15th, six points adrift of the top six.

    Similarly for Southampton, they've faced a bit of a reality check in recent weeks, failing to win any of their past three games (D1 L2), having previously won six from seven since Tonda Eckert took over from Will Still in early November.

    Will either be able to reignite their play-off quest with victory?

    It is the Saints who have come out on top in the past three league meetings between the two sides, including earlier this month when they won 3-1.

  3. Middlesbrough 0-1 Hull

    Only Coventry have left the Riverside with three points this season, so Middlesbrough are trying to play their way back into the game.

    A long time left for Hull to see this one out, of course.

  4. West Brom 0-0 QPR

    A goal and a win of any kind would be welcome at the Hawthorns tonight, and the hosts nearly have the lead through an unlikely source as defender George Campbell heads just over.

    It's going to be a hard game.

    I still feel as though there will be opportunities for us, we just need to get that pass right.

    Hull have done well, they're playing it out well from the back.

    Blackburn forward Yuki Ohashi has his hands on his head as a good chance goes begging.

    Axel Henriksson plays the ball into Ohashi's path, but the Japanese takes too long and he is crowded out by young Cole McGhee and goalkeeper Pierce Charles.

    Ohashi does lots of good work for the team, but he certainly could add more goals to his game.

    The Lions are off and roaring.

    That is a really good finish from Millwall's record signing as Camiel Neghli beats Max O'Leary with a rising shot from just inside the box.

    The Swans have their necks in front!

    This is as simple as it comes. Josh Tymon is given time to cross from the left, and the delivery is perfect for Zan Vipotnik to head home unmarked.

    They haven't won on their travels since September, but this is the right way to go about changing that.

    A first opening for Chris Wilder's side sees Harrison Burrows fire an angled drive goalwards, but Ben Gibson is on the line to keep it out.

    That's very brave goalkeeping from Arthur Okonkwo.

    The Lilywhites carve the hosts open with a lovely slick passing move, and Brad Potts slides in to poke the ball goalwards but is denied by the onrushing Okonkwo who takes a whack for his troubles.

    The home fans respond with chants of Okonkwo to the tune of The Champs' classic hit Tequila.

    Portsmouth goalkeeper Nicolas Schmid is forced into a save as Miles Leaburn races on to Luke Berry's flick on and sets it for Charlie Kelman, who is denied by the Austrian between the sticks.

    Beaten by the better side in Ipswich again tonight, fair play to them. Got to write it off, regroup and go again next time.

    This has been by far the best performance this season without question, we were streets ahead of Coventry.

    From the word go right until the end of the game we were by far the better team - every single stat will read good. We stayed cool and calm and finally got the opening goal.

    What a return for Wes Burns too.

    Great start for the Tigers as two of those four players to come into their team combine to great effect.

    Kyle Joseph pulls it back from the byline and Darko Gyabi is there to send it past Sol Brynn.

    Boro's forced defensive changes probably not helping there.

    Watford's Tom Ince is inches from giving his side the lead.

    His left-footed shot is just wide.

    Kenny McLean has also fired wide for Norwich.

    A bright opening from both sides.

    A massive statement win for Ipswich as they end Championship leaders' Coventry's unbeaten home record this season.

    And you cannot say the Tractor Boys didn't deserve it. They were the better side and this automatic promotion race has just got a bit tastier again.

    Jack Clarke opened the scoring and Wes Burns sealed the deal to perfectly mark his return from a long-term knee injury.

    It's now just two wins from six games for the Sky Blues.

    Not ideal for the Tigers as they are forced into a quick substitution.

    Ryan Giles, returning to the club where he had two loan spells, is forced off with young Irishman Cathal McCarthy coming on to replace him.

    An early scare for home keeper Viktor Johansson, who falls awkwardly after coming to collect a corner for his side.

    The stopper does get back on his feet though, and is all good to continue.
