    Leicester 0-0 Derby

Leicester have recalled Hamza Choudhury to their side with Ricardo Pereira on the bench.

Derby are without Joe Ward for this one and Danny Batth drops to the bench with starts for Dion Sanderson and Ebou Adams who is handed the captain's armband.

Lewis Travis is among the substitutes having been out for two months with a calf muscle injury.

This is the 100th league meeting between the Foxes and the Rams.

The problem is when you're 1-0 down you leave holes at the back.

Jack Clarke shows his pace and gets the ball into Burns. It's a brilliant goal from an Ipswich point of view.

For me, if Coventry do get beat tonight they've been beaten by the better side.

Coventry could be about to lose at home for the first time this season.

Absolute pandemonium in the away end as Ipswich launch a devastating counter-attack.

Jack Clarke does brilliantly to bring it forward and play it to Marcelino Nunez, who sets up Wes Burns to finish it off, firing low and hard into the corner.

High fives all round between Town boss Kieran McKenna and his staff on the touchline.

    Coventry 0-1 Ipswich

Coventry haven't failed to score at home since a goalless draw with Hull on the opening day of the season. The Sky Blues are the top goalscorers in the division overall with 54.

What they would give for just one more goal right now. Can Ipswich see this through? It's tense.

    Middlesbrough v Hull (19:45 GMT)

It is over eight years since Middlesbrough and Hull fell out of the Premier League after a single season.

But as 2025 ends, both clubs looked primed for their best crack at a return since 2017.

Boro and the Tigers have surprised many at the halfway stage, sitting second and fourth respectively, but this is where the pressure will start to ramp up.

The Teesside club were dominant 4-1 winners in east Yorkshire 24 days ago and after one point from their last two games, will want to get back to winning ways.

The Tigers have collected 10 points since their Middlesbrough mauling, although boss Sergej Jakirovic was less than impressed by their 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day.

These sides will both want to end a very good 2025 in the right manner to take with them in to what could be a even better 2026.

It's been coming! Coventry have been brighter in this second half but Ipswich's second chance of the second period finally sees them ahead.

Jack Clarke, we know what he wants to do and that's cut in from the left! All game Coventry have given him space and Luke Woolfenden gave him the yard he needed to shift the ball onto his right foot and that distance allowed for the deflection to get it over Carl Rushworth.

Frank Lampard has brought on Eccles and Allen for Torp and Rudoni, so he's freshened up the central midfield.

They're going to need to really up the ante to get back into this. Ipswich deservedly lead.

  8. Lions and Robins - round twopublished at 19:38 GMT 29 December 2025

Millwall v Bristol City (19:45 GMT)

Millwall boss Alex Neil argues with Bristol City captain Jason KnightImage source, Shutterstock

Hopefully a three-week break has given these two a chance to cool their jets.

The Ashton Gate meeting at the start of December ended in a mass brawl when the home side had a goal disallowed.

Since that day City's Harry Cornick has been handed a three-match ban and both clubs have been charged by the FA.

So, here we go, seconds out, round two...

Despite going four games without a win and failing to score in the past 190 minutes there surely cannot be any Millwall fan complaining about their current position.

Only goal difference is keeping the Lions out of the top six and they do like to finish December in style - not for a decade have they lost their final game in a calendar year.

This one is another test of their play-off credentials with their opponents arriving one place above them in sixth and for all their impressive performances so far this season, Millwall's only victory over the current top six came earlier this month... at Bristol City.

The Robins rock up to South London on a two-game winning run, including ending Middlesbrough's unbeaten start under Kim Hellberg.

It has been a bit feast or famine for City fans this season with two previous decent runs ended by defeat by Oxford United and a 5-1 battering at Stoke.

There is still plenty to play for where these two are concerned but there might still also be a question mark over whether they are the real deal.

    Coventry 0-1 Ipswich

You've got to say, Ipswich have come to win this game.

As much as they're slowing it down, when the ball is in play they're moving it quickly around the pitch.

They've been better in the second half. Coventry will be open for the break now but they've got to find something from somewhere.

  13. More misery in store for Mason?published at 19:34 GMT 29 December 2025

West Brom v QPR (19:45 GMT)

West Brom boss Ryan MasonImage source, Shutterstock

Festive cheer has been hard to come by at West Brom over the past few weeks, and the Baggies are in desperate need of a lift with 2025 set to turn into 2026.

One win in five for a side who spent much of the early running in and around the top six has left fans at The Hawthorns feeling decidedly blue, and Ryan Mason will be eager to make sure his side end the year on a positive.

Eight points from the play-offs, and six from the relegation zone, could the Baggies use the final game of 2025 as a springboard upwards, and in the process, relieve some of the pressure on their under-scrutiny boss?

Julien Stephan's QPR side have stepped out of the tight midfield pack in recent weeks and sit just one point outside the top six before tonight.

One defeat in five and two in nine have vaulted Rangers into the mix, and they could return to the top six for the first time since early October with three points this evening.

Having beaten the Baggies 3-1 at Loftus Road a few weeks ago, they have the chance to complete a rare league double against Mason's side - something they haven't done since their most recent Premier League campaign in 2014-15.

    Big, big goal!

Carl Rushworth has spared Coventry's blushes tonight but he cannot do anything about this.

Jack Clarke finds himself in acres at the far post and sets himself before curling one towards the far corner.

It takes a big deflection off ex-Ipswich defender Luke Woolfenden and loops up and over Rushworth before dropping in at the far post.

Carl Rushworth. Again. Ipswich should be 1-0 up.

Coventry captain Matt Grimes makes a rare mistake and gives it away deep inside his own half.

Ivan Azon pounces for Ipswich and breaks into the area, firing low across goal from the left but Sky Blues keeper Rushworth gets down to parry it behind when it was heading for the far corner.

  20. Pompey hoping to reel Addicks into relegation scrappublished at 19:27 GMT 29 December 2025

    Portsmouth v Charlton (19:45 GMT)

Portsmouth's Terry Devlin celebrates scoring in the 1-1 draw with QPR on Boxing DayImage source, Shutterstock

Portsmouth welcome Charlton to Fratton Park aware victory would well and truly drag the visitors right into the relegation dogfight.

With a win and two draws in their past three games, Pompey are on their longest unbeaten run of the season so far since mid-September but still remain 22nd and behind Oxford on goal difference, albeit with a game in hand.

John Mousinho knows results at home will be crucial to his side staying up and in particular against others towards the bottom end of the table.

The Addicks arrive on the south coast having lost six of their previous eight games and defeat could see them end the night potentially just two points above the drop zone, depending on results elsewhere.

That being said, Charlton tend to fare quite well against Portsmouth and have lost just one of their previous 11 league meetings (W7 D3). They will certainly be hoping to add another big win to that record tonight.
