It’s 338 days since Wes Burns ruptured his ACL in a 4-1 defeat at Liverpool in the Premier League back on 25 January.

An annus horriblis for Burns is ending on a high. He made his cameo for three minutes on Boxing Day but this is going to be the icing on the cake.

You have to have a heart of stone or be a Coventry fan to not be happy for the Welshman.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Charlton

A big game at Fratton Park.

Mackenzie Kirk starts for the first time since 1 November for Portsmouth, while Marlon Pack and Adrian Segecic come in for Pompey as John Mousinho makes three changes from the 1-1 draw with QPR.

Mark Kosznovszky and Colby Bishop drop to the bench but Callum Lang is not in the squad.

Nathan Jones has made five changes for Charlton. Reece Burke, Joe Rankin-Costello, Luke Berry, Tyreece Campbell and Charlie Kelman all come in.

Macauley Gillesphey, Keenan Gough, Sonny Carey and Tanto Olaofe drop to the bench. Karoy Anderson doesn't make the squad.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Blackburn

First chance of the game and nearly a first Blackburn goal for Moussa Baradji on his first start.

But his header goes into the Hillsborough Kop and not the back of the net.

    Oxford 0-0 Swansea

It looks as the hosts are keen to continue the momentum from that Boxing Day win over Southampton.

Tyler Goodrham and Luke Harris both get a sight of goal, but the Swansea defence recover to put a block in.

  5. goal

GOAL Leicester 1-0 Derbypublished at 19:52 GMT 29 December 2025

    Bobby De Cordova-Reid (6 mins)

Just the start the home side needed.

Abdul Fatawu chases an over-hit cross and sends the ball back into the box where Bobby De Cordova-Reid runs onto it and without breaking stride slots home his fifth goal of the season.

  6. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

    Coventry 0-2 Ipswich

Ipswich are almost there. Six minutes added on as Town win a corner.

Coventry's unbeaten home record is surely going to end tonight.

    Wrexham 0-0 Preston

Quick turnaround versus a team in form? Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson opts for the latter, naming the same XI that begun the 5-3 rollercoaster win over Sheffield United.

Preston opt for four changes as there is a first start of the season for Brad Potts, while Liam Lindsay, Alfie Devine and Mads Frojkaer have also been re-introduced.

Andrew Hughes is absent while Pol Valentin, Ali McCann and Michael Smith all begin on the bench.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

Big chance for Hull to further cement themselves in the top six with a statement result at Boro. Will be very tough though and quite a defensive starting line up. Some quality waiting on the bench, however! McBurnie to score the winner!

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

The 0-0 draw with Blackburn on Boxing Day really did come at a cost for Middlesbrough.

Dael Fry, George Edmundson, Alfie Jones and David Strelec are not involved tonight but Aidan Morris is back on the bench having not played since 25 November.

Boro have made three changes as Alan Browne, Alex Bangura and Kaly Sene come in, but Hull have made four.

Oli McBurnie, Liam Millar and Amir Hadziahmetovic are all subs, but Mohamed Belloumi is injured.

Darko Gyabi, Kyle Joseph, Joel Ndala and Akin Famewo are their replacements.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 89 mins

    Coventry 0-2 Ipswich

Coventry's Tatsuhiro Sakamoto goes down in the box under a heavy challenge but the ref waves play on.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Blackburn

It's going to be difficult for Wednesday to win the midfield battle tonight. Tronstad, Baradji and Cantwell is a Premier League-worthy midfield. Expecting a 3-0 away win.

    Coley, Preston

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Blackburn

Only one change for Blackburn from their decent draw at Middlesbrough as Moussa Baradji gets a first start in place of injured Japan midfielder Ryoya Morishita.

Sheffield Wednesday have had to make a late alteration with young defender Cole McGhee replacing Liam Cooper while Svante Ingelsson gets a rest as Charlie McNeill has started this one.

There are quite a few gaps around Hillsborough, Probably not a surprise given the Owls are SO far adrift at the bottom.

  13. Postpublished at 19:48 GMT 29 December 2025

    Leicester 0-0 Derby

A bright start from the visitors as they earn a corner.

The ball is cleared to the edge of the area where Liam Thompson flails an effort well over the bar.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 88 mins

    Coventry 0-2 Ipswich

Jack Clarke has been brilliant for Ipswich tonight, in place of the influential Jaden Philogene who picked up a knock last time out and was only fit for the bench. He's replaced by Philogene. Jens Cajuste is also on for Town in place of Jack Taylor.

Intrigued to hear what people watching make of Lampard's management. I'm following the BBC feed and it sounds like a game Cov have been struggling with from the start. What could/should he have done? Obviously they're flying high, but is this the kind of test that managers should overcome?

    Coventry 0-2 Ipswich

What a moment for Wes Burns who has missed the entire season with a knee injury until now - getting just three minutes from the bench at Millwall on Boxing Day. He may well have just sealed a statement victory with his first goal of the season for Ipswich.
