    Blackburn 2-0 Millwall

Some decent stuff from Blackburn as they work it wide to Matty Litherland.

The debutant whips over a good early cross and Yuki Ohashi gets across his man, but he is a few yards beyond the far post with his glancing header.

A third Rovers goal and this game would be done.

  2. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 13:41 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Lewis Dobbin continues to look a threat and goes down in the Norwich box under a challenge by Harry Darling but the referee points to the corner flag instead of the penalty spot.

    Darling timed his tackle perfectly.

That Dasilva tackle was so bad he should be sent off twice.

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Lewis Dobbin is played in behind for the home side but he is a yard offside and the linesman correctly puts his flag up.

Dobbin hit his shot straight at Vladan Kovacevic anyway.

That is spot on by the referee and Jay Dasilva just flies in with a straight leg!

That could be a really nasty challenge, he is trying to get the ball but Welington gets there first and the challenge is really horrible.

This red card could change the game now.

  6. Postpublished at 13:38 GMT 20 December 2025

    Blackburn 2-0 Millwall

A bit impetus from Millwall and they win a corner.

Alfie Doughty swings it over with that reliable left foot but Jake Cooper heads well over.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:37 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-1 Coventry

Down to 10 men, Coventry make an immediate change.

Jake Bidwell replaces Josh Eccles as the visitors need to reorganise at the back.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:36 GMT 20 December 2025

    Blackburn 2-0 Millwall

No less than THREE changes from Millwall boss Alex Neil to his side.

Caleb Taylor, Joe Bryan and Macaulay Langstaff have been summoned to action.

Zak Sturge, Aidomo Emakhu and Thierno Ballo have not reappeared.

  9. Postpublished at 13:36 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

No substitutes for either side at the break.

Both sides are missing key attacking players with Preston missing Daniel Jebbison and Josh Sargent absent for the visitors and, in truth, there has been a lack of cutting edge in the final third so far.

Can anyone step up in the second-half and break the deadlock?

  10. RED CARDpublished at 13:35 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-1 Coventry

Jay Dasilva is dismissed for Coventry.

The Coventry man flies into a challenge on Welington - it's industrial but is that a red?

Referee Adam Herczeg thinks so with barely 90 seconds of the second period gone.

    Welington is receiving treatment.

Get Welington off the pitch, he is currently the weak link down the right side. Let’s have James Bree back.

    Jim, Hampshire

Referee well in favour of Coventry. Eccles should have been sent off, numerous files on Scienza not properly punished - same old, same old.

    HT: Blackburn 2-0 Millwall

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

The key to the rest of this game is to recognise this is a Millwall side that are sat in fourth in the table and look like a poor beaten side at the moment.

You imagine they will not play like that in the second half and will be very different.

I hope that Blackburn's approach will be the same as the first half, just have a go at Millwall and try and get some more goals to finish the game off.

Overall it has been a really good half for Coventry and they deserve to be 1-0 in front.

They have bossed the play really, and we haven't seen a great deal from Southampton and I think they have given Coventry too much respect. They are playing three at the back, but it feels more like a five.

I am absolutely positive that the Saints manager will do something different in the second half and so Coventry are going to have to be prepared for that.

As it stands, it has been very comfortable for them

A great half for Blackburn with those two goals for Andri Gudjohnsen and Yuki Ohashi bookending things.

A bad half for Millwall and especially goalkeeper Max Crocombe. A poor save for the first goal and a huge defensive cock-up for the second.

I'd keep clear of Lions boss Alex Neil foir the next 15 minutes!

Blackburn well on course for three very welcome points.

Half-time and it remains goalless at Deepdale.

Little of goalmouth action to tell you about in truth.

Lewis Dobbin came closest to breaking the deadlock but his strike from outside the box was slightly off target.

Michael Smith did have the ball in the back of the net for the home side but the referee had already blown up for a free-kick on City keeper Vladan Kovacevic.

Let's hope to tell you about more chances in the second-half!

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-1 Coventry

Coventry goalscorer Ephron Mason-Clark celebratesImage source, Shutterstock

Pretty even stuff but Coventry came on strong towards the end of the half and have their noses in front thanks to Ephron Mason-Clark's header two minutes before the break.

Josh Eccles in particular was superbly denied by Gavin Bazunu while the Southampton goalkeeper also saved from Jack Rudoni before Mason-Clark broke the deadlock.

Southampton had the better of the opening exchanges with Adam Armstrong surprisingly wasting their best chance when dragging a shot wide while Leo Scienza has forced a save out of Carl Rushworth.

Coventry are eight points clear at the top as it stands.

  20. Postpublished at 13:17 GMT 20 December 2025
