    The ball is in the back of the net but it won't count!

    Again, Vladan Kovacevic looks unconvincing from a cross from the right and Michael Smith puts the ball in the back of an unguarded net for the home side but the referee blows up for a free-kick to Norwich.

    Looked a little soft that.

    Todd Cantwell tries his luck on the volley from 25 yards and his effort is decent, but doesn't quite enough height on it to get it over Max Crocombe.

    The New Zealand goalkeeper is then penalised for holding on to the ball for over eight seconds and gives away a corner.

    Cantwell plays a short one and works it back into the area where Crocombe has to come out and smother it behind for another corner.

    Lewis Miller meets an aerial ball on the volley before seconds later, he is caught by Camiel Neghli in mid-air.

    The Lions then manage to work an opening for Mihailo Ivanovic down the inside-left channel, but the Serbia striker is very wide and his effort is low and straight at Aynsley Pears.

    Finn Azaz's shot on the turn is blocked.

    The pace of that counterattack will give the visitors cause for concern.

    Aidomo Emakhu with a purposeful run down the right and he fires the cross into the box.

    Camiel Neghli arrives late from midfield to meet it, but his volley is just over the top.

    From a Norwich corner, Kenny McLean does brilliantly to flick the ball on at the near post but it is well dealt with by the Preston defence.

    Good ebb and flow to this one so far.

    Southampton have scored three goals in each of their past four home games, all of which they have won.

    They will be disappointed not to have taken one of the opportunities offered so far to Adam Armstrong and Leo Scienza.

    Coventry will be satisfied after the first quarter of this one.

    Norwich midfielder Jacob Wright is beginning to have an influence on this match and his touches around the corner are starting to look threatening.

    After Preston deal with an initial ball in from the right, the ball falls to City midfielder Pelle Mattsson but his volleyed effort from outside the box is blocked by North End skipper Ben Whiteman.
