  1. 'Coventry deserve this lead'published at 13:17 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

It was a lovely ball from Victor Thorp and just hung it in, the ball is good enough for him to get up for it.

Gavin Bazunu had made a terrific save just before, but there was nothing the Saints keeper could do about that.

    Coventry deserve this lead.

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Jovon Makama uses his pace to burst down the right but the danger is well dealt with by a covering Preston defender.

This one looks like it will be goalless at the break.

GOAL: Blackburn 2-0 Millwallpublished at 13:16 GMT 20 December 2025

    Yuki Ohashi (45 mins)

Five days early, a Christmas gift for Blackburn!!

Millwall have absolutely gifted the home side a second goal and it is a disaster for goalkeeper Max Crocombe and Danny McNamara.

A long throw from Lewis Miller goes beyond any home players, but McNamara cushions a header past his goalkeeper and Yuki Ohashi gleefully chases it and tucks into an empty net from barely two yards out.

A huge breakdown in communication at the back there for the Lions.

    It had been coming...

Victor Torp clips an inviting cross into the box and Ephron Mason-Clark beats Gavin Bazunu with a powerful, well-placed header.

A fifth goal of the season for Mason-Clark.

  6. 'Good opportunity for Springett'published at 13:13 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

    Mark Rivers
Former Norwich City player on BBC Radio Norfolk

All it takes sometimes for a player is an injury and you come on and put in a few good performances then suddenly you find yourself in the starting 11 week in, week out.

This could be a good opportunity for Tony Springett

  7. Postpublished at 13:13 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Thierry Small hits a shot from a tight angle but it is easily gathered by Norwich keeper Vladan Kovacevic.

At the other end, Jovon Makama gets to the byline but his cross is well defended by North End.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Norwich midfielder Jacob Wright is the first player to be booked for a foul on Harrison Armstrong the halfway line.

  9. Postpublished at 13:09 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Another fine save from Gavin Bazunu and this one does count.

Jack Rudoni slips it to Josh Eccles on the edge of the area and the home goalkeeper beats his shot away.

    Coventry asking questions.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:08 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Gavin Bazunu brilliantly denies Haji Wright.

Then the flag goes up for offside but the Southampton goalkeeper would not have known that - brilliant reflexes.

    Blow for the visitors.

Amankwah Forson has picked up an injury after a tackle from Thierry Small and is replaced by Tony Springett.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:06 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Taylor Harwood-Bellis goes through Ephron Mason-Clark.

That is a yellow card all day, every day.

  13. Postpublished at 13:06 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Jack Rudoni has a shot on the turn saved by Gavin Bazunu as Coventry recycled a corner.

The visitors are having their best spell of the game with 10 minutes to go until the break.

  14. 'Harwood-Bellis is a lucky man'published at 13:06 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

The problem is Haji Wright knocked the ball a bit too far in front of him before he has gone down.

I think the referee has got that decision right, and if he gives the penalty it is a sending off.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis is a lucky man, because if that is given as a foul that is a red card.

  15. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 13:04 GMT 20 December 2025

    Southampton 0-0 Coventry

Haji Wright goes streaking through the middle for Coventry.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis gets back to hinder his progress and both players go to ground with the Sky Blues calling for a penalty.

Nothing doing from referee Adam Herczeg - shoulder-to-shoulder is his verdict.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:04 GMT 20 December 2025

    Blackburn 1-0 Millwall

Good centre-forward play from Mihailo Ivanovic as he rolls Sean McLoughlin.

But the Blackburn defender takes no prisoners and pulls him back.

An easy decision for referee Sam Allison to book McLoughlin.

  17. Postpublished at 13:04 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

Oscar Schwartau looks to thread the ball into the box for the visitors but it is well cleared by the Preston defence.

This game remains end-to-end and it's hard to predict which team may break the deadlock in this one.

    Blackburn 1-0 Millwall

I know I'm ever the pessimist, but as a Millwall fan I've never really felt like we've looked top six this season, never mind top four. Bit of a reality check for us, I think.

    Blackburn 1-0 Millwall

Todd Cantwell needed treatment for a few minutes after that neat short corner routine and thankfully the Rovers captain is OK to continue.

He has been very good in the opening half-an-hour.

  20. 'End to end game'published at 13:02 GMT 20 December 2025

    Preston 0-0 Norwich

    Alan Kelly
Former Preston keeper on BBC Radio Lancashire

It is a good game, and is end to end.

Norwich have built into the game, but one aspect Preston have done all season is they have kept momentum and pressure - even when they don't have the ball.

Even as it stands I still fancy Preston today.
