  1. 'One of Durham's longest bowling sessions'published at 15:05 BST 2 May

    Middlesex 430 v Durham 0-0

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The Middlesex innings ended at 2.50pm on day two. Durham were in the field for 141 overs - one of their longest bowling sessions in first-class cricket.

They failed to take a wicket in the morning session before Ben Raine bowled Zafar Gohar for 56 just after lunch. That ended a partnership with Ryan Higgins for the seventh wicket at 124.

Higgins was then caught at first slip by Kasey Aldridge, on 131, to give Raine the 17th five for of his career. It's his 13th at Durham. And soon after that it was all over.

Aldridge trapped Sebastian Morgan lbw for 14 and Luke Robinson got his first wicket in first-class cricket when Toby Roland-Jones fell for a third-ball duck, also lbw.

It's a warm and sunny day at Lord's but the rain is due to arrive here at about 5pm.

    Surrey 179-1 v Sussex 358-9 dec - Surrey trail by 179 runs

Exactly halfway there for Surrey who have scored 179 and are 179 behind.

Dom Sibley is on 75 and Ryan Patel has moved on to 20 after that dropped catch a little earlier.

  4. 200 up for Northantspublished at 14:57 BST 2 May

    Northants 201-3 v Worcestershire 306 – Northants trail by 105 runs

The hosts pass 200 with Ricardo Vasconcelos four runs short of a century.

    Chappell c Benjamin b Milnes 11 (Kent 352 v Derbyshire 203-7)

    Derbyshire are seven down.

Matt Milnes gets Zak Chappell caught behind and he's on his way for 11.

Kent will be looking for a healthy first-innings lead now.

  6. MIDDLESEX ALL OUTpublished at 14:55 BST 2 May

    Middlesex 430 v Durham

Middlesex are finally all out at Lord's as Durham substitute Luke Robinson gets last man Toby Roland-Jones.

Emilio Gay, with plenty of backing for an England call-up, will bat at three for the visitors.

  7. 200 up for Derbyshirepublished at 14:52 BST 2 May

    Kent 352 v Derbyshire 203-6

How close can Derbyshire get to Kent's first-innings total?

They've just gone past 200 at Canterbury with Luis Reece (25*) and Zak Chappell (11*) beginning to build a partnership.

They trail by 149 and have at least avoided the follow on.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 14:48 BST 2 May

    Surrey 168-1 v Sussex 358-9 dec

Ooh that should have been out.

Ryan Patel gets away with one as he edges Tom Clark behind to John Simpson but the normally reliable Sussex wicketkeeper puts it down.

That looked a fairly regulation catch but he spills it and it bounces away from the clutches of first slip as well.

Clark looks like he can't quite believe it, Simpson doesn't drop many.

Simpson and Sussex will be kicking themselves as that was a golden opportunity to get Surrey two down.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:46 BST 2 May

    Holland b Stone 6 (Leics 63-3 v Notts 490)

Olly Stone gets another to shape away slightly and Foxes skipper Ian Holland loses his off stump.

The 32-year-old would almost certainly have not been on had Brett Hutton not had to stop halfway through his over nine overs back.

But he has located a great line and length and now has 2-8 from 4.2 overs.

  10. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 14:41 BST 2 May

    Hants 19-0 v Glam 536-7d

Predicted rain has arrived, the covers are on, and the players are walking slowly from the middle with Toby Albert (10) and Nick Gubbins (9) the not out batsmen.

  11. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 2 May

    Hants 13-0 v Glam 536-7d

The ground staff are massing around the hover cover with intent (well, they are sitting on it at least) and it looks like there could be an imminent break in play.

  12. wicket

    Burns b Crocombe 77 (Surrey 148-1 v Sussex 358-9 dec)

Just as I was preparing to type out Surrey reaching 150 without loss - in comes Henry Crocombe!

Rory Burns departs for 77 after dragging on to his stumps and it's fair to say he looks furious with himself.

The first wicket for Sussex comes in the 49th over and it's no surprise to see joint-highest Division One wicket-taker Crocombe is the man to get it.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:19 BST 2 May

    Patel c Verreynne b Stone 37 (Leics 52-2 v Notts 490)

And a stylish innings comes to a premature end as Olly Stone shapes one away from the defensive guard of Rishi Patel.

The Foxes opener played some flamboyant strokes to climb into the 30s and he is annoyed with himself for not continuing in the same style.

He just sort of hangs a bat at an away swinger and gets a faint edge to Kyle Verreynne behind the stumps.

No mention of the return of Brian the Cat at the County Ground in Taunton? Surely the most important news of the day from those parts!

John - Newcastle (originally from Somerset)

You've done the job for us John, thanks!

Ben Raine celebrates taking wicketImage source, Shutterstock

Durham seamer Ben Raine has finally broken Middlesex's seventh-wicket stand, bowling Zafar Gohar for 56. His partnership with Ryan Higgins was worth 125 and Higgins is still there on 130 with Middlesex 401-7.

Kent have removed dangerous Derbyshire pair Wayne Madsen and Martin Andersson to leave the visitors 162-5 at Canterbury. They still trail Kent by 190.

Northants are on top against Worcestershire having moved to 154-2. Ricardo Vasconcelos is 74 not out and they're 152 behind.

  16. Injury to Brett Huttonpublished at 14:13 BST 2 May

    Leics 52-1 v Notts 490

Brett Hutton has run through the crease and pulled up without letting go of the ball and he is taking his cap and walking off.

Olly Stone will finish the over but it is clear that Hutton has felt something and he will go and get whatever it is checked.

Josh Davey has already been replaced as a substitute in this match with Tom Scriven his like-for-like replacement for Leics.

Notts need to make a fairly quick decision about a sub.

  17. GLAMORGAN DECLAREpublished at 14:09 BST 2 May

    Hants v Glam 536-7d

Kiran Carlson decides that it is time to have a crack at the Hants openers and calls time on the Glamorgan innings.

Sean Dickson (54*) and Mason Crane (10*) are the not out batsmen having shared a partnership of 26 runs.

Back in 10 after the heavy roller has done its job.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:06 BST 2 May

    Weatherald b Pennington 14 (Leics 48-1 v Notts 490)

Simply done for pace as Jake Weatherald loses an off stump as the wood cartwheels off towards the slip cordon.

Dillon Pennington has angled that across and it hasn't done much but what it has is speed and venom.

  19. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Tauntonpublished at 14:04 BST 2 May

    Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 13-0 – Somerset lead by 99

    What a shame.

The rain has arrived in Somerset.

We hope it won't be too long until they're back but the forecast isn't great so we'll have to see how it looks as the day goes on.

Fin Bean is on eight and Adam Lyth on two with Yorkshire having all second-innings wickets in hand.

  20. Postpublished at 14:03 BST 2 May

    Leics 41-0 v Notts 490

The sun is beating down at Grace Road and Rishi Patel has clearly turned the style setting on his bat to 'Caribbean'.

A walk into a straight on-drive follows a backfoot uppercut through point, both off Dillon Pennington and Brett Hutton.

Lovely stuff as he moves to 26 from 32 balls.
