    Rain delay: Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 13-0 – Yorkshire trail by 99 runs

No change at Taunton where they are still off for persistent rain.

And looking at the sky it doesn't feel as if they will be coming back anytime soon with the covers firmly on.

  4. Postpublished at 16:03 BST 2 May

    Kent 352 v Derbyshire 291-9

Luis Reece is on the attack at Canterbury.

The Derbyshire all-rounder has raced onto 76 with six fours and five sixes.

The last-wicket stand with Shoaib Bashir is worth 43 - Bashir has seven.

  5. Tea at Grace Roadpublished at 16:01 BST 2 May

    Leics 109-4 v Notts 490

Still a mountain ahead of Leics who trail by 381 but before that the thing in front of them now is cake and a cuppa.

Despite the loss of Brett Hutton to injury, Olly Stone with 2-14 as well as wickets for Dillon Pennington and Liam Patterson-White have Notts firmly in control.

Jonny Tattersall and Stephen Eskinazi are the unbeaten batsman as we head towards the final session on day two.

  6. Tea at the County Groundpublished at 15:59 BST 2 May

    Northants 280-4 v Worcestershire 306 – Northants trail by 26 runs

A wicket just before the interval for the visitors with Ethan Brookes dismissing Ricardo Vasconcelos for 115.

Saif Zaib's unbeaten 73 is moving Northants ever closer to Worcestershire's fist innings total.

WICKETpublished at 15:57 BST 2 May

Vasconcelos lbw Brookes 115 (Northants 271-4 v Worcestershire 306 – Northants trail by 35 runs)

Ethan Brookes hasn't bowled as many over as his team-mates but he makes a big breakthrough in his seventh, getting centurion Ricardo Vasconcelos out lbw for an excellent 115.

Coming around the wicket he hits the Northants opener plumb in front.

That breaks the 101-run partnership between Vasconcelos and Zaib.

  8. 50 runs

for Ryan Patelpublished at 15:53 BST 2 May

    Surrey 235-1 v Sussex 358-9 dec

All three Surrey batters have made half-centuries now as Ryan Patel passes 50.

The batters are enjoying themselves a lot more than the bowlers at present but the new ball isn't too far away now if Sussex fans are looking for a bit of hope.

The hosts trail by 123 runs as we approach tea.

  9. 50 runs

  10. Postpublished at 15:45 BST 2 May

    Leics 100-4 v Notts 490

Stephen Eskinazi nudges Lyndon James for a single off his legs and Leicestershire have reached three figures. They still trail by 390 and have a long way to go before they look Notts squarely in the eye.

  11. 50 runs

for Saif Zaibpublished at 15:37 BST 2 May

    Northants 262-3 v Worcestershire 306 – Northants trail by 42 runs

  12. Tea at Southamptonpublished at 15:33 BST 2 May

    Hants 19-0 v Glam 536-7d

An early tea is being taken at the Utilita Bowl but the covers are still on and the skies above look filthy.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:29 BST 2 May

    Lees lbw b Higgins 12 (Middx 430 v Durham 19-1)

Perfect line from Ryan Higgins and Alex Lees has not got too far forward either.

The Durham skipper walks a little way outside off stump in an effort to try and fool the eyes but the finger is up.

    Looked pretty plumb.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:28 BST 2 May

    Aitchison c Northeast b J Singh 26 (Kent 352 v Derbys 247-8)

A nice little cameo from Ben Aitchison comes to an end.

After making 26 off 27 balls the Derbyshire number nine is dismissed by Jas Singh.

Kent are still set for a decent first-innings lead...

  16. Postpublished at 15:21 BST 2 May

    Surrey 200-1 v Sussex 358-9 dec

Remember all that talk of the green pitch at The Oval when Sussex were 92-7?

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:20 BST 2 May

    Hill c Hameed b Patterson-White 14 (Leics 84-4 v Notts 490)

The switch from pace to spin has taken an over to produce but Liam Patterson-White has a breakthrough as Lewis Hill chips to Haseeb Hameed at midwicket.

Leics are in a bit of a hole here with over 250 needed to avoid the follow-on and only six wickets still standing.

    Somerset 274 v Yorkshire 162 & 13-0 - rain stopped play

For the third match in a row two people make a score, the rest contribute not very much and the player with a hundred plus goes right away when a big hundred was on offer. Somerset not batting as a team. It's bound to cost them sooner than later.
