Get Involved - Overton's stellar seasonpublished at 13:37 BST 22 June

    #bbccricket

Re Tom (1224), every single bowler (except Bashir) to have played more tests than Overton since he was first picked has a better bowling average. I'd say that's probably why he hasn't been picked again.

    Danny, Southend

This discussion seems to fall into the old argument of form versus class. Should Craig Overton be defined by what he has done in previous Tests or by how he is performing currently?

    Lunch: Glamorgan 44-1 v Surrey - target 195

    Cennydd Davies
    Commentator on BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan’s cricketers require a further 151 runs to win on the last day of their Division One County Championship fixture against Surrey at Sophia Gardens.

The hosts endured a frenetic start as they Billy Root was run out in bizarre fashion after a lack of communication between himself and Asa Tribe .

Since then, Tribe joined by captain Kiran Carlson have settled and managed to steer Glamorgan through to lunch unscathed.

A little earlier the visitors managed to frustrate the home side as they managed to add 49 runs to their overnight score in a record 10 wicket partnership of 105 between Tom Lawes and Jordan Clark, before Laws was eventually out caught by wicket keeper Chris Cooke off the bowling of Ryan Hadley.

The second Test against New Zealand may not have gone to plan for England but there were three debutants at The Oval.

We make it 20 new caps handed out by head coach Brendon McCullum since he took the job.

How many can you name? This is not easy by any means!

Well batted Jack Leach. He hasn’t quite made this game safe but he’s just about done enough barring some pretty amazing Warwickshire batting.

    Somerset 208 & 435 v Warks 330

Well bowled Manav Suthar at the end of his fourth and final bowling shift in this Warwickshire spell.

He looks like a very popular figure with his team-mates.

He’ll be hoping his work is done and he doesn’t have to come out to bat and save the game later.

SOMERSET ALL OUT FOR 435published at 13:17 BST 22 June

    Ball b Suthar 4 (Somerset 208 & 435 all out v Warks 330)

Jake Ball is last man out, bowled by Manav Suthar - who takes 5-100 - to end the Somerset innings.

Earlier, Thomas Rew fell for 149 and Craig Overton made 111, there was also an important late contribution of an unbeaten 25 from Jack Leach to build up that Somerset lead.

We'll all have some lunch now and when we return in about 40 minutes Warwickshire will begin their run-chase, in pursuit of 314.

    Somerset 208 & 427-9 v Warks 330

That wicket of Ogborne came with what would have been the final ball before lunch.

So on we go for now as Warwickshire seek the final Somerset scalp to end the innings.

The Bears look like they need an injection of energy and enthusiasm.

I've never seen such a lack of reaction to taking a wicket.

Do they believe they can still win?

  9. 'Very muted' response to Bears wicketpublished at 13:07 BST 22 June

    Somerset 208 & 427-9 v Warks 330

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

The lack of response from Warwickshire’s players makes it feel like they think their chances of victory have gone.

    It was very muted.

  10. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:06 BST 22 June

    Durham 62-1 v Northants - Target 296

That’s lunch - and it has been a fascinating, fast-moving morning at Chester-le-Street.

Durham took Northants’ last four wickets for 50 to set themselves a victory target of 296. They got to 48 with all 10 wickets intact but the loss of Ben McKinney to a superb catch by George Bartlett has re-balanced the game somewhat.

Alex Lees is still at the crease on 31 from 50 balls but there is enough in this pitch - and through the air - to keep Northants interested. Ben Sanderson had Will Rhodes in all sorts of trouble in the penultimate over before the break.

It is certainly an interesting situation for Nathan McSweeney, standing in as captain after Luke Procter broke his hand in the field on Saturday.

How he deploys his bowling resources could be pivotal.

    Ogborne b Suthar 11 (Somerset 208 & 427-9 v Warks 330)

Well that was bizarre all round.

Manav Suthar bowls Alfie Ogborne - beating the bat and clipping the top of off-stump.

But Ogborne then stays rooted to the spot on his knees for what seems like an age, there is no reaction from the Bears players and everyone is left thinking is he out or not?

    Well, he is.

But you wouldn't have known it from the visiting fielders.

    How very strange.

  13. Lunch at Sophia Gardenspublished at 13:03 BST 22 June

    Glamorgan 44-1 v Surrey - target 195

Surrey added a further 49 runs for their last wicket to set Glamorgan a victory target of 195.

That looked a long way off when Billy Root was run out for nought off the fourth ball with he and Asa Tribe both ending up at the non-striker's end.

Tribe and Kiran Carlson have settled any nerves to get them to lunch for no further loss.

  14. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:03 BST 22 June

    Kent v Middlesex 52-4 - target 231

Kent's final three wickets could only add a further 24 runs on the resumption of play in England's garden this morning.

But Matt Milnes and Keith Dudgeon with two wickets apiece have given the home side a shout of taking the win after Middlesex had started the day as favourites.

  15. Lunch at Worcesterpublished at 13:01 BST 22 June

    Worcs 388 v Glos 289 & 126-7

No doubt who will be happier with the two hours of play at New Road.

Worcestershire have claimed six Gloucestershire wickets, with the visitors only adding 67 runs in the process.

Fateh SIngh has done the damage with four as the Glosters slumped from 81-1 to 126-7.

The lead is only 27 with the Pears firmly in the box seat now.

An inside edge onto his stumps by Leus du Plooy gives Keith Dudgeon his second wicket.

The Second Division's leading run scorer rips off his gloves as he knows that is a hammer blow to his side.

Fielders around the bat for Warwickshire spinner Manav Suthar who temps Alfie Ogborne a little before the Somerset man pulls his bat away just at the right time.

This will be the last over before lunch.

50 up for Middlesexpublished at 13:00 BST 22 June

    Kent v Middlesex 52-3 - target 231

It has come at the cost of three wickets but Middlesex reach 50.

Only a further 179 runs required lads.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:58 BST 22 June

    Worcs 388 v Glos 289 & 122-7

This is probably a very harsh decision but Ben Allison would have needed to be a leaping Curtley Ambrose to take this one.

Daz Ahmed sends it upwards and Allison leaps but cannot quite get high enough as it brushes the top of his fingers and Ahmed grabs a single.

  20. Postpublished at 12:58 BST 22 June

    Somerset 208 & 427-8 v Warks 330

Bears bowler Nathan Gilchrist bashes one in short and flies over everyone - including wicketkeeper Alex Davies - and runs away to the boundary for four.

The Warwickshire shoulders were drooping a little there.

What they would give to get these two remaining Somerset wickets.
